But you've pointed me to the right direction - i found a bug related to sasl2-bin, i'm pretty sure, this bug leads to this behaviour: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=527161 I have the same problem, that the upgrade to sasl2-bin 2.1.22.dfsg1-23 or libsasl2-2 2.1.22.dfsg1-23+b1 rendered all sasl related tools unusable.
