Bug#574092: kaddressbook unable to open vCards with ENCODING=8BIT inside

2010-03-16 Thread Yann PENIGUEL
Package: kaddressbook
Version: 4:4.3.4-1
Severity: normal

The following text/x-vCard file doesn't work:
BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:2.1
N;CHARSET=UTF-8;ENCODING=8BIT:Machin:Truc
TEL:
ADR;CHARSET=UTF-8;ENCODING=8BIT:;56 Rue du Bootloader. 63000 Clermont-ferrand
EMAIL;CHARSET=UTF-8;ENCODING=8BIT:t...@machin.org
URL;CHARSET=UTF-8;ENCODING=8BIT:http://truc.machin.org
END:VCARD

But the following does work:
BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:2.1
N;CHARSET=UTF-8:Machin:Truc
TEL:
ADR;CHARSET=UTF-8:;56 Rue du Bootloader. 63000 Clermont-ferrand
EMAIL;CHARSET=UTF-8:t...@machin.org
URL;CHARSET=UTF-8:http://truc.machin.org
END:VCARD

I think kaddressbook doesn't correctly handle ENCODING=8BIT.

Hi,

since the update of kaddressbook (and all kde-pim) from 3.5.8 to 3.5.9, I have
a problem with my contacts:
I store my contacts on an IMAP folder, and since the update, all the non-ASCII

want to see the email in the IMAP Contacts folder with kmail...
However, when I save the vCard from kmail on my disk and re-import it, it is
displayed correctly, until I add a contact to my addressbook (or modify one,
or just close and re-launch kaddressbook).

Here is an example of a problematic vCard (actually, this is the source of

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
I am using IMAP groupware functionalities with Kontact. There is a charset
problem in contacts when I use the IMAP resource : when I add a new contact
with a special character like é in the name or in an other field, it is
automatically changed into a curious double square character after the
synchronisation with the IMAP resource.

The vCard seems to be encoded in UTF-8 on the server, and this problem is
fixed in 4.1.x, but I need 3.5.x to sync my PIM data with my phone.

Hi,

you reported http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=495599 some time
ago. Since then, KDE Software Compilation had several releases. Can you please
verify whether the bug you reported is still present in a more current
version? If yes, can you also please specify the type of remote connection
you're using (vnc, rdp, ...)?

Eckhart

Synaptiks packaging

2010-03-16 Thread Valentin Pavlyuchenko
Hello,

There is the application called Synaptiks
(http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php/synaptiks?content=114270)
that allows you to configure your touchpad. I think everyone who owns
a notebook/netbook
will be happy to see it in Debian. What about adding it to repos?

There is an ITP open for kcm-touchpad which (afaik) does the same:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=568040

There is also an RFP open for synaptiks:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=553043

I guess kcm-touchpad will be uploaded rather than synaptiks.

Krita

2010-03-16 Thread Frank Becker

Hi,
I'm running Krita 1.6.3 on Debian Lenny with KDE 3.5.10. liblcms1 is
installed, colorschemes are in ~/.color/icc.

I use Krita to convert images to another color-scheme. I open an image
with RGB-Colors.
With Image / Convert Image I switch to CYMK. If I try to save the
image I get:

Cannot export images in CMYK.
[ OK ]

And then

Could not save
/home/telnix/apo-promotion/Projekte/lebenslösung/Tag der
Erde/sonnenblume freigestellt sv cymk.png

  [ OK ]

How can I convert images to CYMK using Krita?
Thanks in advance for your help
Best regards

Re: Synaptiks packaging

2010-03-16 Thread Valentin Pavlyuchenko
I think synaptiks is a better touchpad management tool than kcm-touchpad.
It features plasma applet with notifications and has more features.

Actually, why I've written here - synaptiks wishlist on
bugs.debian.org was added more than 4 months ago and there is no
result while Squeeze may be frozen soon. Synaptiks already has Debian
packaging (unofficial), and there should be no problems supporting it.

Re: Amarok, KMix: how to set sound volume for external audio adapter?

After quite some time I've looked at Amarok again now that 2.3 has made
it into unstable. Somehow, I'm missing a way to set the sound volume. I
didn't find a volume slider in Amarok itself and KMix, too, doesn't show
any controls for my external Edirol UA-1EX sound adapter.

Click on the speaker, top right, to get the slider. Or scroll wheel over
the icon.
