Check whether sonnet-plugins is installed (installing it if not).

Here is a backtrace with requested info in an attachment.

Like Alexandre said it only happen when you read an article. In my case is
not 100% but only one or two times it didn't crash.

Also tried with a fresh account with only planet.debian.org and it still
crashed in the same place.

If you need more info just let me know.

Bug#836299: signond: please use dbus-run-session to run tests

2016-09-01 Thread Simon McVittie
Source: signond
Version: 8.57+20150423-3
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream
User: d...@packages.debian.org
Usertags: dbus-launch dbus-launch-for-tests

As described in
I'm trying to reduce how much dbus-launch is used in Debian.
This package currently uses dbus-x11 for tests under at least
some configurations.

It should be possible to replace dbus-x11 as follows:

* Upstream: in tests/run-with-signond.sh, instead of invoking dbus-launch
  in the fallback code path where there is no dbus-test-runner and
  killing the dbus-daemon afterwards, use

  dbus-run-session --config-file="${DBUS_CONFIG}" -- ${CLIENT_WRAPPER} "$@"

  (dbus-run-session behaves a bit like a simplfied dbus-test-runner)

* Debian-specific: replace
  "xvfb-run -a dbus-launch --exit-with-session dh_auto_test"
  with "xvfb-run -a dbus-run-session -- dh_auto_test"

* Debian-specific: replace Build-Depends on dbus-x11 with dbus (>= 1.8)

If D-Bus is the only reason you are using xvfb, you can remove that too,
and just use "dbus-run-session -- dh_auto_test".

Thanks,
S

It gets even better with the recent uploads/upgrades in sid, likely plasma-
workspace and plasma-desktop to version 5.7.4-1, as it looks like it works
again with Locked Widgets too :-)

kf5 5.25 in testing, systray elements not working

2016-09-01 Thread Francesco De Vita
Hello

On August 31st, kf5 packages in Testing were upgraded to version 5.25. After
this update the elements of the systray (audio volume, networks, printers,
battery, notifications,...) do not work, their icons are missing and instead
there are blank spaces where these elements should appear.

If I create a new panel, it shows the missing elements but after few seconds
plasma-shell (I suppose) crashes and the systray elements disappear. However,
the same elements work if used as plasmoids outside of the systray.

Is it an already known issue?

Ciao
Francesco

Hi,

I'm subscribed to this bug, haven't yet made a trace, but hope this helps:

- when akregator is started, and then closed without opening any news
item, it will close fine, 100% reproducible
- as soon as any news item has been read, it will crash at shutdown,
100% reproducible
so I suspect the problem comes from some khtml/webkit component.

I'll have a look again.

Since a recent upgrade (less than a month ago). After reading a feed when
closing Akregator it will crash without saving feeds state. The next time it
will load like it didn't fetch any feed.

  * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or

If I remaing in the welcome page I can synchronize without problems, and
Akregator will close correctly.

But If I read a post from a feed or load the list of post in a folder. It will
crash when closing Akregator.

  * What was the outcome of this action?

Run under gdb generates the following stack trace

Thanks for the report. I can't reproduce the issue here, and sadly the gdb
output sent doesn't have enough debugging information. Could you please
install akregator-dbgsym, and qtbase5-dbg and run it under gdb again?

The -dbgsym packages are in separated repositories, so you'll probably need to
add:
deb http://debug.mirrors.debian.org/debian-debug unstable-debug main
to your sources.list. (For more information [1])

Also, kde applications are heavily threaded so you'll need to ask gdb to
produce a backtrace for each thread, this can be achieved with:

(gdb) thread apply all backtrace
(For more information [2])

Updating nm breaks its ability to connect to Wifi networks.

I am using a broadcom chip with the firmware-sta-dkms package installed.
It worked well until I updated to 5.25.0-1 when, although it saw the
wifi networks around me, it cannot connect to them (log attached)

A work around is to disable mac address randomization as described in
[1].

This is reported in https://bugs.debian.org/835822
I can't reproduce the issue with 1.4.0-3, the changelog doesn't mention any
change related to this so it's probably that my card wasn't affected. Could
you please send a follow up on that bug with your findings?

However while using this work around, the plasma widget in the
system tray shows that the network is not connected (the icon is the blank
wifi symbol with a question mark), however it is actually connected and
working.

I do not know if the fix that has been committed upstream [2] solves
this second issue or not.

This part is reported in kde:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367938
And I can confirm that restarting plasmashell fixes it.

It also mentions that the network-manager issue that causes this was reported
here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=770629

So, it seems that
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/commit/?id=923eaa6a478f95a69d1b9ccac429c7ffea3e4af4
needs to be applied in network-manager, and that might be unrelated to the
issue mentioned earlier.

I'm cloning this issue so the network-manager maintainers get notified about
this.

Bug#836264: plasma-workspace: System tray entries cannot be removed from Settings when widgets are locked

2016-09-01 Thread Ignacio R. Morelle
Package: plasma-workspace
Version: 4:5.7.4-1
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

Unlike on 4.6 versions, on Plasma 5.7.4 it's not possible to remove tray
widgets as long as widgets are locked. Attempting to remove them this way will
not have an effect until plasmashell is somehow restarted.

Steps to reproduce:

* Right click on panel and lock widgets
* Right click on tray and choose Settings
* Uncheck any of the items in General -> Extra Items

This is already reported as bug #365618 upstream:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365618

Bug#835383: plasma-workspace: systemtray not work with framework 5.25

2016-09-01 Thread Ignacio R. Morelle
After updating plasma-workspace and others to 5.7.4 following yesterday's
uploads to sid, this issue appears to have magically disappeared like I
suspected it would do. Hooray!

That said, I noticed that now when the panel is locked, unchecking items in
General -> Extra Items in the tray config doesn't do anything until
plasmashell is restarted (see also https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365618
upstream).

Changes:
 kdevelop-php (5.0-1) experimental; urgency=medium
 .
   * Team upload.
   * New upstream release.
   * Update/simplify watch file.
   * Update the build dependencies following the port to Frameworks:
 - add extra-cmake-modules, qtbase5-dev, libqt5webkit5-dev,
   libkf5archive-dev, libkf5i18n-dev, libkf5itemmodels-dev,
   libkf5kcmutils-dev, libkf5texteditor-dev, and libkf5threadweaver-dev
   * Bump build dependencies according to the upstream build system:
 - bump cmake to >= 2.8.12
 - bump kdevelop-pg-qt to >= 2.0
 - bump kdevplatform-dev to >= 5.0
   * Use the right dh addon:
 - switch from kde to kf5 dh addon

   * Disable building of unit tests, as long as they are not run.
   * Bump kdevelop dependency in kdevelop-php to >= 5.0.
   * Update lintian overrides.
