There might have been some misunderstanding; surely nothing improper was 
meant.

But you made your point about that a LaTeX deployment cannot be assumed 
generally speaking.

At the end of the day I don't see there is much ground for a bug report, 
either on debian side or upstream; but then I might be mistaken.

I don't think it is reasonable to expect them to forward this to the almost 600
rdeps? At least I wouldn't expect that from you either if you had a library
transition and some rdeps failed to build (and you've been there).

Personally I don't have a KDE account, otherwise I would open a bug upstream.
