Bernhard,

Please try the attached patch. It builds here both with the old and the new
libraries. I also sent it upstream. Thank you!

2018-10-08 Thread Sandro Knauß
Hey,

yeah the automatic logic for migrations to testing fail on kdepim, because
some archs do not built that fast only some packages have been build on all
archs and those are migrating to testing without the rest of kdepim and as the
packages in testing tell a minimal version and not a maximum some packages get
updated and than things break. I hoped that with proper ABI bumps things get
better. but it doesn't looks it is enough...

Is this in testing?

Today, a few packages were upgraded to 18.08 from 17.2 in testing. It
broke several things, including korganiser & kaddressbook. A quick look
at packages.debian informs me that the 17.2 to 18.08 transition is far
from complete, and thus likely to break things in testing for a while.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but indeed the upgrades of today broke the entire
KDEPIM I suppose, as not even Kmail was working afterwards.

These the relevant packages that have been installed and upgraded:

- installed
   libkf5imap-data:amd64 (18.08.1-1, automatic)

- upgraded
   libkf5kontactinterface5:amd64 (17.12.3-1, 18.08.1-1)
   libkf5mime-data:amd64 (17.12.3-2, 18.08.1-1)
   libkf5grantleetheme5:amd64 (17.12.3-1, 18.08.1-1)
   libkf5grantleetheme-plugins:amd64 (17.12.3-1, 18.08.1-1)
   libkf5imap5:amd64 (17.12.3-2, 18.08.1-1)
   libkf5mime5abi1:amd64 (17.12.3-2, 18.08.1-1)
   libkf5kontactinterface-data:amd64 (17.12.3-1, 18.08.1-1)
   libkf5mbox5:amd64 (17.12.3-1, 18.08.1-1)

Uninstalling libkf5imap-data and downgrading back the other packages solved
the problem for now.

Or just upgrade every KDEPIM package to 18.08 from sid.

I too have been utterly upset by the constant Google's security warnings;
which I deem are in themselves a security threat, because they are coming at
any time of the day, on your phone, and there will sure be a time, when you'll
hit the wrong button, or end up giving your credential to a spoofing agent.
(hit the wrong button, meaning hitting the button that will allow Google to
manage everything it wants on your accounts, and on your phone)

So I finally found a way to turn them off altogether:
At the bottom of that google's help page, they tell you haw to do it.

I copy the instructions here so I too can find them if again in dire need of
them:

Note: It takes about a week for alerts to get turned off. This is because
Gmail wants to confirm it's you that's turning them off, and not someone else
who might have access to your account.

On your computer, open Gmail.
In the bottom right, click Details.
At the bottom of the page next to "Alert preference," click Change.
Select Never show an alert for unusual activity.

Best,
Chris

Is this in testing?

Today, a few packages were upgraded to 18.08 from 17.2 in testing. It
broke several things, including korganiser & kaddressbook. A quick look
at packages.debian informs me that the 17.2 to 18.08 transition is far
from complete, and thus likely to break things in testing for a while.

That said, I can't help with your original question about kontact as
that's one part of kdepim I don't use. Sorry.

Bug#910500: libqt5quick5: Sefault in applications using QWebEngineView

The problem is very similar to bug #910317, the only difference is
the site address.

With "https://www.qt.io;, I get the crash when running the program
directly, but it does not crash when I run it in GDB. With
"http://leafletjs.com/;, it crashes in GDB.

However when run outside GDB, the printed stack trace is the same,
so let's assume it is the same bug.

I am also able to confirm that downgrading libqt5quick5 fixes the crash.
But I am not sure whether this is an effect of the patch I backported
(fix_unaligned_memory_access.patch), or a side effect of the rebuild.
I will try a clean rebuild without the patch to check if it works.

Note that the crash does not happen with Qt 5.11.2 packages from
experimental (where the mentioned patch is applied too).

Let's keep both bugs open for now, until I figure out which Qt module
to blame (Qt Quick or Qt WebEngine). After that I will merge them.
