I get similar problem with swiss-french keyboard. I was not able to do what I
want with the new tools (xkb, Xfree config). I have changed the keyboard with
the xmodmap utility. Now it works well.

How have you installed  XFree86 4.0.2 (from Debian package or directly from the
files given at xfree86 site). I get very strange problem too with kdm, the
installation of Debian potato Xfree package has solved it. 

Some time computer science seems to be more magic than scientific...

Hi,
   No I have just do the command apt-get update, apt-get dist-upgrade. I
have downloaded about 53Mb of data and all was installed flawlessly (except
that I have kept my kdmrc file).

task-kde-devel

I want to install the package task-kde-devel, but a lot of dependencies on
other task-*-devel packages can not be resolved because these packages were
not available.

Is this problem caused by my source list file which is not up to date (I have
done a apt-get update command just before trying to do the installation) or
these packages are unavailable for some other reason.


I am working with the stable (potato) distribution.

KDM starnge problem

Hi All,
   I just try to install kdm potato4 and I get a strange anoying
problem. The first pannel is no more fully in french (I use french
localisation). Half of the pannel is in french (mot de passe for password)
but all the buttons are in english (I get Go instead of Entrer).


I have upgraded all KDE package to the potato4 version ? KDM is working
perfectly well with the kdm...potato2 version I have before and that I have
reinstalled now.


Any Idea ?
