I have the same problem. It seems to happen since one oft the last upgrades.
I'm running KDE from unstable (5.20.5).

One monitor went to sleep (and stands there) fine. The other monitor wakes up
every minute. No logs in journalctl or dbus-monitor.

I also tried it with a new profile (other user). I already replaced the
displayport cable.

In sddm it works fine. But if I start "real" KDE it wakes up every minute
randomly.

If I do
xrandr --output DP-1 --off
the monitor went to sleep and stays in sleep mode. After KDE(?) sends sleep to
the monitor (after 10 minutes inactivity) the problematic monitor wakes up from
sleep again :-(

Any ideas to debug this?

Bye

I installed it. I can now edit kmenu. I also saw that it is recommend by
plasma-desktop. Normally I didn't install the recommend packages. After
installing all recommend packages from plasma-desktop my desktop starts
in a few seconds (and not a few minutes).

If I have time the next days I'm going to analyze it.

But I can still not edit the icons on my desktop. If I click on "Icon
settings..." I just can configure "keyboard shortcuts".

Thanks!

I can't edit the icons. I can not see the command. Maybe I there is one
packages missing.
BUT I saw that there is a second icon available for dolphin and with
this one I doesn't get the message :-D

Thanks for this hint!

Dolphin request to run as root

2015-09-14 Thread Daniel Schröter
Hello,

I'm running Dolphin in version 4:15.04.3-1

Since upgrade to plasma 5: If I start Dolphin with the icon I get a
message for kdesu requesting root privileges. (If I click "ignore" it
runs fine).

If I start Dolphin from the konsole it doesn't request root privileges.

I think the problem has something to do with samba. I also changed
/var/lib/samba/usershares/ to 777 but it doesn't solve the problem.

Someone else getting this message?

Thanks in advanced!

Bye

Since restart this has been resolved too.
Just the long start and dolphin asking for root password exists. This is
okay for "unstable" ;-)

great! It works.
Now I just need to solve the problem why the login takes so long and why
krunner needs 20 seconds the first time.

Dolphin also asks for a root password but if I press ignore it starts fine.

Where can I find the plugin? I didn't installed them.

I also have the problem if I start krunner (by pressing ALT+F2) for the
first time.

[Plasma5] Dolphin starts slow and freeze desktop

2015-07-27 Thread Daniel Schröter
Hello,

I upgraded to plasma5. If I start dolphin it takes 25 seconds to start
and the complete desktop freeze. I can just move the mouse.

If I start dolphin with
dbus-launch dolphin
everything works fine. Does someone else have the same problem and a
solution?

I deleted everything under ~/.config ~/.kde ~/.cache

Some more ideas?

Thanks in advanced!

No problem. You can go directly to 4.9.1 ;-)

I hope we will see a beta of 4.10 as soon as available on kde.org.
