I'm using Debian unstable kde packages, and can't access some https
website (only some, but very important) with konqueror. The message is
 that:

An error occurred while loading https://some.site
Could not connect to host some.site.

The crypto section of konqueror's settings has both openssl and TLS
activated, and pass the test on the openssl tab in it. It seems that
some people have had this problem before, but it was very quite old
konqueror versions and not with Debian. Has anybody here experienced
 this? Thanks for any suggestions.

Try to disable TLS.

Re: How to create keyboard shortcuts in KDE?

2006-02-06 Thread Hasso Tepper
Robert Gomułka wrote:
could you tell me how to create keyboard shortcuts in KDE and whether
 they work or not?

They do.

I wanted to create some shortcuts for inserting commonly used text.
I went to control center, regional settings and accessibility, keyboard
actions/shortcuts (rough translation, I use localized version).
I added new action, set its type as keyboard shortcut - keyboard
input, then defined shortcut as alt-b (alt-ctrl-b for the second try),
then in last tab I entered my text, which I wanted to be sent to an
 application.

How did you do that? It's not just plain text, it's a key sequence you
have to enter there. For example to send string Hello into application
you have to put string Shift+H:E:L:L:O into this textbox.

2006-01-24 Thread Hasso Tepper
Tim Ruehsen wrote:
 Hi,

I just updated to KDE 3.5 / KMail 1.9.1. When selecting 'save
attachments' on a mail with 2 or more attachments, a directory
selector/requester pop's up. It asks me for a directory to save the
 files into. BUT:

 * I can't access my bookmarked directories. This makes the process of
 selecting a directory much slower.

 * I can't see any files in the selected directory. This cuts me off
from: - a quick view into the directory (my decision to create a new
directory might be based on the contents).
   - removing/renaming single files before I press OK (for saving).

Since I use this feature up to several times a day, this loss of
 productivity really annoys me.

Is there a switch to enforce getting a file selector?

If you are in the position to compile KMail from sources, you can revert
this commit:

http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-commitsm=112269694124848w=2

If not: Would this be more a wishlist item or a minor/normal bug?
Are there any other people who dislike the new 'feature'?

It's just another proof that developers should be very careful with
changing things already in applications. It's almost certain that you
will break someones workflow.

comparison to the output of the Mozilla engine. Is this a
 byproduct of the
 seemingly-more-accurate Mozilla engine?

Fonts are clearer, cleaner, and printed levelly in Galeon while in
Konqueror text can be badly rendered and seem like a sample of
messy block printing. In Konqueror any text, especially titles, is
often rendered so that the text is fuzzy and each letter is at a
different height on the line. Such uneven lettering is most
 unattractive.

I tried it and: Yes, me.
Looks like you found a bug. I'm running sid with qt-2.3.0-beta1, so this
could possibly be another qt bug, since the user agent dialog worked fine
in beta2. Can anyone on potato with qt-2.2.3 or qt-2.2.4 and kde 2.1-final
 try this?

I'm using qt-2.3.0-beta1 and 2.1 final packages in Potato and can't confirm
this. For me it works. Just enter required data and Add button will be
non-grey.

Problem with libqt2 package

2001-01-17 Thread Hasso Tepper
In directory /usr/lib/qt2/include there is a lot of header files that should
not be there. I had problem with it today when tried to compile Aethera. In
qt's include directory there was mainwindow.h file and it clashed with the
MainWindow class in the Aethera source tree.

mainwindow.h in qt's include directory is from qt-designer probably and I'm
sure that it's place is not there. Qt's include directory should contain only
include files from qt library, IMHO.

Ivan?

Hello.

Laurent Montel wrote:

 What is the problem ?

I'm very sorry.
This problem was a problem to happen with a patch of
Japan KDE Users' Group
(koffice-2.0-kspread-i18n-20001026.diff).
It was a cause that the 487th line of kspread_cell.cc was
transferred to
const char *p=m_strText.utf8();
from
const char *p=m_strText.latin1();
with this patch.
This problem happens so that this patch is applied in a
Debian package.
