Given what you said, does it mean that the KDE PIM suite will only receive security updates, if any, but not patches for non-critical bugs like the ones above if not properly ported to the 16.04 version? KMail 1 (yes, I still use it), when you drop a file into a message, lets you
choose if you want to add it as attachment or as text ("as text" is the
behavior you describe). Later, if you drag a file into the message structure
pane, it is automatically added as attachment.
