I have it on BTRFS and could make snapshots, but mostly I forget. The
filesystem is too full to keep snapshots for longer, so I do not use any
automatic snapshotting at the moment. Well for / it might work, but /home runs
full pretty quickly with a snapshot.

Hi,

I always have a backup of my Sid-system, made with fsarchiver.

apt-cache show fsarchiver

So if my system is really broken, I recover my backup in some minutes and
everything is fine.

cheers

Dear,

Yesterday morning (Nov 6) my screen stayed close to black, I did not read this
mail thread before.

I reverted by installing several Stretch packages.

I just now re-installed all from Sid.

All working fine.

Many thanks indeed for quick actions AND clear communication via this channel.

Good news!
Maybe let us know when to go ahead and upgrade.
Thanx.

To have sddm and plasma session QML stuff work correctly:

qtdeclarative-opensource-src 5.7.1~20161021-5

for the fix you need at least libqt5qml5 and libqt5quick5
5.7.1~20161021-5.

So wait till apt-cache policy shows the required versions for these
*and* you

can safely apt dist-upgrade without removing a ton of packages.

To fix quassel:

plasma-integration_5.8.2-1+b1_amd64

which Dmitry aka mitya57 also just uploaded.

I´d say tomorrow, maybe even earlier, depending on buildd speeds.

I suggest you monitor #debian-qt-kde IRC channel. Can have benefits as
mitya
provides links to packages he built there, so on my system Quassel
client is

also already fixed.

Ciao,

All neccessary packages are already in incoming.
So they will be in Sid with the next mirror sync in ~ 3.5 hours
