I don't think it's possible to automatically detect such incidents for multicast transmissions. So the mechanism fails here. I have no idea where the packet is dropped; from my somewhat limited understanding of 802.11, I'd expect the frames to be treated like broadcast frames by the AP, so it'd be the receiver dropping them in the MAC filter. I am trying to build a live CD with a kernel-package kernel and the initramfs is still not created: first of all kernel-package is legacy, use make deb-pkg. As long as make deb-pkg can't build neither header nor source packages I personally just can't switch to deb-pkg. So even though I'm not the original bugreporter I just want to mention that I don't want to see kernel-package called legacy. I prefer to call things by their name. The simple conclusion is that nobody really needs those things. I do need it, as well as 14000 other users have it installed. http://qa.debian.org/popcon.php?package=kernel-package As they are easy to add in linux-2.6 and nobody proposed it. kernel-package is easy to use and I get what I need. source deb package!? simple git clone gets more data. Doesn't integrate into package management. headers to built against? again same git clone settled it. Doesn't integrate into package management. And especially if you just want to build an additional *-source kernel module (nvidia, open-vm, virtualbox,...) you definitely don't want to wait for a git clone to be finished. Sorry maks, but just because you don't need it doesn't mean that no one else won't need it either. I'm happy to migrate to anything else (linux-2.6, make deb-pkg,...) if those tools provide what I need, but until then I prefer to continue using kernel-package and not calling it legacy. regards, -mika- signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bluetooth for netbook Toshiba NB200 under Squeeze
Dear package mainter, I'm sorry for bothering you but I really don't know how to deal with the problem I have: I tried to google-around but I couldn't find much support (maybe because my netbook is a bit too new and not so common). So please, even if you cannot solve my problem I'd be very greatful whether you can suggest me a way to proceed looking for a solution. The problem is: my NB200, under Linux, does not support BlueTooth (worthless to say that under WinXP it's working). I'm not really sure about it but I think that after the very first installation of Squeeze there was a kernel version (with a name that I cannot remember) which supported BT. But not with current 2.6.32-5 version, for sure (BT manager says: no BT adapter found or something similar). That's why I'm writing to you now: is there any chance that there's a module that the kernel loaded in the past and that it's not loaede any more now? TIA for your kind support! BR, Maurizio. PS Of course I can live without BT support but sometimes it's useful. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kernel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? And today, I discovered, just before submitting a new bug, that the fact that bash core dump each time I hit [tab] or [backspace] was due to a disk corruption of bash binary (ie pb fixed by reinstalling my current version of bash). detecting architecture from vmlinuz
Hello, [ I am not subscribed to debian-kernel ] I have found a problem in the bootloader lilo because lilo compute the uncompressed size of vmlinuz (- vmlinux) with an algorithm which is false for especially the amd64 architecture. My question: is there a way to detect the right architecture only from the compressed file vmlinuz to compute the size of the uncompressed file vmlinux depending on the architecture? Or does anyone know another (quick) way for reading the real size of vmlinux without uncompressing vmlinuz? (Reason: It make no sense for each detection to uncompress the vmlinuz file, which is need to know how much memory is need for the kernel). Have a nice day, Joachim (Germany) signature.asc Description: PGP signature

And even if there exists anything non-x86 that includes these IGPs I really doubt that the driver is close to supporting it. I think I should import with the patches unapplied and then use gbp-pq or quilt to apply them.
