Right, we have this big stockpile of hardware we could test on, and
all this free time to hack on it, but we just can't be bothered.
That is clearly the most obvious explanation.

Ben.

Nor with 3.10. It's actually an upstream issue, because vanilla kernels

The total lack of reaction from Debian Kernel
Teamat
the moment does mean that they just don't care.

Try 3.9.8-1 (testing) or 3.10.1-1 (unstable). (But don't use
3.10.1-1 on any system using RAID-10.)

Bug#717929: Crypt setup: Hard to type the password

2013-07-26 Thread Patrik Nilsson
Package: Linux

When you start the system and have to type an encryption password, the
key repeat is too fast and key bounce doesn't exist.

It would be great to set these values so it is easier to type the
correct password.

When using a netbook you can't choose your keyboard and sitting in a bus
trying to type the password is often hard and many tries needed.

Bug#717925: linux-image-3.2.0-4-686-pae: Failure to connect with wireless on 3.2 kernel using AR5416 card. Works on 2.6 kernel.

2013-07-26 Thread Ehren Brav
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.2.46-1
Severity: normal

When booting my machine from a cold start each day, if I boot to 3.2, I get
endless requests from NetworkManager to enter the network password. I have a
workaround that consistently works to resolve this issue:

1. I reboot the machine into 2.6.

2. Usually, NetworkManager automatically connects to the network, though
sometimes I need to disable/enable wireless before it will do this.

3. I reboot into 3.2, and it automatically connects, every time.

I believe this is an issue with either ath9k or other wireless modules used by
the kernel (mac80211?). This issue first appeared when I upgraded from squeeze
to wheezy (and thus from 2.6 to 3.2).

My wireless card is an AR5416. I'm attaching an annotated sampling of the
syslog that shows the log messages from the 3.2 failure to connect, the reboot,
and then the 2.6 successful connection.

Kworker processes consume more than half (on avarage)
of the other processor. Using the machine is quirky since it takes
0.5-1 second pauses all the time. When typing normally I keep
loosing keypresses.

I googled around and found this tip that I should use boot option
pcie_ports=compat or pcie_ports=native. Neither worked. If either is
used the machine
refuses to boot altogether and sends only the following error message:

Alloc magic broken at 0x7ec2c2a0.

The problem first occured the day before yesterday after my regular
apt-get dist-upgrade excercise.

2013-07-26 Thread René Labounek
I have the same problem. The graphic freeze is happening very often, in
average twice a day. My OS is Xubuntu 12.04, kernel 3.2.0-49-generic.

Hello.

With hopes to fix this issue, I tried to install the
