Bug#820258: linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64: multiple oops. froze. had to reboot. null chars in log files.

2016-04-06 Thread gofloss gofloss
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.16.7-ckt25-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

i am running a pretty vanilla jessie (but with an nvidia firmware).

the computer froze.

web browsing both times. today it was an unintentional drag
of a url in iceweasel. (grr, firefox.)

it never did this before Apr 4, which i believe is after the
recent kernel upgrade.

therefore, may i suspect the new kernel upgrade is the cause
of this? if it's instead hardware or user error, i'd like
to know about it.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

rebooted.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

it froze in mid-unintentional-drag. rebooting fixed it.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

working computer?

here is the log starting one line above the oops. take it
easy on me as ianakh. ask me for anything else you want.

is normal priority correct for a system freeze that requires
a reboot?

thanks.
