Geert Stappers stapp...@stappers.nl (2014-11-03): Inside http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/jessie/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/netboot.tar.gz is a 3.16-2 kernel. It could be that the update process is stalled. Who can verify (and get it rolling again)? Netboot images get a kernel modules mismatch when the ABI is bumped, which isn't a new thing. If one wants to use a released d-i, there are other installation images (CD or DVD images etc.) to pick from. There are also dailies built, so that one can test newer images until the next d-i release; which is what you've mentioned at the bottom of your mail. Information that I have: * The above netboot.tar is from 2014-10-02 * Announcement of Jessi debian-installer beta 2 is from 2014-10-05 In other words: archive shoud not have 2 october version, but a 5 october version. That's incorrect. There's always a slight delay between when the debian-installer package is uploaded, and when each and every bit is ready, and images are built/published. The former happened on 2014-10-02, the latter happened on 2014-10-05. Workaround that I use is d-i from current daily snapshots found mid https://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ The 3 november version has a 3.16-3 kernel FWIW 3.16-4 is pending so releasing images using 3.16-3 wouldn't be much of an improvement.
