Thankyou for a lot of helpful hints. Here I am.

Dear mentors,

I am still looking for a sponsor for my package texttrainer. TextTrainer is a
program which helps you memorise poems or plain texts in your native or in some
foreign language. You learn by repeatedly reading the text, while after each
run more (and different) words are being hidden (i.e. replaced by _). This
will teach you a poem, parts of your text for a play, or  basic phrases of a
foreign language before you go on holiday. Different learning curves may be
selected, and for foreign language texts there is an automatic grammar
correction. Data  files for TextTrainer can contain the plain text, as well as
translations and pronounciation guides. Data files can be created with
TextTrainer itself, or with any standard text editor.

* Package name: texttrainer

Upstream Author : Jacob Kanev j_ka...@arcor.de

Unfortunately the upstream has no site which can be scanned, the current
source file can be downloaded directly from his website but there is no
index.html or Indexes in apache for previous or future source files.

Adopting the upstream is probably the wisest thing to do, rather than
keeping on patching the code via dpatch, probably in the next release I
will do so (it will also depends whether we will get any future bug
report or not)

There is a small issue when running battery-graph and the log file is empty:

Yes, I saw this but battery-graph is calling another script and gplot is
reading from stdin, if it's fine for you I'd prefer not to patch this
because I should change the flow of battery-graph and probably getting
the error before sending data to the pipe.

You could at least state from what version it supports ACPI.

There is a small issue when running battery-graph and the log file is
 empty:

 $ battery-graph

 gnuplot plot - using ($1 - 946681200):2 smooth unique axis x1y1

reading from stdin, if it's fine for you I'd prefer not to patch this
because I should change the flow of battery-graph and probably getting the
error before sending data to the pipe.

It's only annoying, because with the default config of flush=10 the
user have to wait 10 mins to see a graph and sees only this error
without knowing why. Better if you can fix it somehow, in the next
releases.

The new release without version bump is in mentor; thanks a lot for your
assistance, please let me know if you need any other change.

In general, it's better if you tend to write all your changes in
debian/changelog file, even if minor or so: for example, Depends
changes are not there. This helps *a lot* to identify problems or
errors. Please do next time, because this has just been uploaded :)

Thanks for your contribution to Debian,

Yet another list statistics for debian-mentors

2009-01-17 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi,

as you can read in my lightning talk at DebConf

   http://people.debian.org/~tille/talks/200808_lightning/

I did some investigation on who is frequently posting
on our mailing lists. I now created graphs until
end of last year and write a short summary for
those lists I regard worth a comment. I'm not
CCed to all of this list so if you want to discuss
something please keep me in CC. If you want to
discuss the results in general just write to debian-project.

All graphs and the code that was used to create the
graphs are available at

   http://people.debian.org/~tille/liststats/

If you are interested in a mailing list which was not
analysed, just tell me. I was running the scripts on
those lists I personally had some interest and those
with more than 1000 subscribers.

I plan to clean up code and write some doc about it
but this will not happen in the next couple of weeks.

The graph for this specific list is

--- start of mailing list specific part --
   http://people.debian.org/~tille/liststats/authorstat_mentors.pdf

Guessing from the graph this is a nice list with very active mentors
(guessing that people who are frequently posting are mentoring instead
or asking questions to mentors ;-)).

Keep on the good work!

Kind regards

Andreas

RFS: adtool (bugfix)

Hi Cyril

adtool/1.3-3 fixes a FTBFS error for porters to GNU/k*BSD as reported in
bug #511424, and a tiny fix in debian/rules.

I've also added DM-Upload-Allowed to debian/rules too, in advance of
applying for DM status, unless you want it missed out for now.

The dsc is on mentors as usual, at:

If you can take a look sometime that would be great.

Hmm, no error message is available now.
Tentatively, I described to README.Debian as follows:

  * Now Kita2 should be used under UTF-8 locale.
Please generate to run dpkg-reconfigure locales and select
ja_JP.UTF-8.
I think this is a bug; can you contact upstream to fix it?
Yeah, I would try to contact him.
No reply has been received from the upstream yet,
so, in order to warn, I introduced a new rapper as follows:
 #!/bin/sh
 if [ $(LC_ALL=ja_JP.UTF-8 locale charmap) != 'UTF-8' ];
 then
kdialog --title Error --error Kita2 needs ja_JP.UTF-8 locale.
  exit 1
 else
  LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 exec /usr/bin/ruby1.8 -C/usr/share/kita2
 /usr/share/kita2/kita.rb
  exit 0
 fi

 Here is the new package:
 http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/k/kita2/kita2_1.90.4-1.dsc

I think there was some concern about kde4 compatibility, did you address that
 ?

I tried to address it.
Kita2 requires Korundum.rb now, so I tried korundum4.rb.
It became clear not to work because of lack of ListView and ListViewItem
classes of KDE module in korundum4.rb.

The kita2 upstream says that he will make kita2 correspond to KDE4 by
the next release.
