 The debian/rules seem to set JAVA_HOME := /usr/lib/jvm/default-java,

Okay, the bug is that default-jdk should be in Build-Depends and not in

recoverjpeg just looks for a jpeg (now mov files) structure into the
file system and
photorec and testdisk appears be a more complete suite for recover
files, is why recoverjpeg is a little faster.
Each of these programs are for different needs, I think it's always
nice to have several options.

But maven-debian-helper does not depend default-jdk and you set

RFS: fpm2 (updated package)

2010-03-03 Thread Wen-Yen Chuang
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the new version 0.78-1
of my package fpm2. (Programming language: C)

It builds the binary package: fpm2

The package is lintian clean.
The package fixes a wishlist bug (see below).

fpm2 (0.78-1) unstable; urgency=low
.
  * New upstream release
- gray out toolbar buttons and menu entries automatically (Closes:
#570596)
  * Update debian/copyright
  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.8.4

Description: a password manager with GTK+ 2.x GUI
Figaro's Password Manager 2 (FPM2) is a program that allows you to
securely store the passwords. Passwords are encrypted with the AES-256
 algorithm.
 .
If the password is for a web site, FPM2 can keep track of the URLs of
your login screens and can automatically launch your browser. In this
capacity, FPM2 acts as a kind of bookmark manager. You can teach FPM2
to launch other applications, and optionally pass hostnames, usernames
or passwords to the command line.
 .
FPM2 also has a password generator that can choose passwords for you.
It allows you to determine how long the password should be, and what
types of characters (lower case, upper case, numbers and symbols)
should be used. You can even have it avoid ambiguous characters such as
a capital O or the number zero.

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- - dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/f/fpm2/fpm2_0.78-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me. :-)

Kind regards
 Wen-Yen Chuang

Okay, uploaded, thanks!

P.S. I didn't forget to pass the proper -v so that the relevant entries get
included in the *.changes file, and BTS magic to close these up for you.

Can you guys upstream a package into Debian with a gitweb URL reference?
If I'm understanding the question correctly, yes. We have Vcs-$VCS (i.e.
 Vcs-Git) and Vcs-Browser pseudo-headers. Both are optional.

The Vcs-* fields are for the Debian package VCS.

There is an emerging project to add upstream metadata to Debian source
 packages:

 http://wiki.debian.org/UpstreamMetadata

I agree with Kel here, git2cl et al are unimportant details.

Indeed, that is why the relevant lintian warning is marked pedantic.
Personally I think this part of Debian policy needs a review, I don't
have the time or energy to bring it up on debian-policy though.

Kel, mail me in private when you have something ready for review
 upload, as usual.

 Check this thread:

 http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-wpa-devel/2010-March/thread.html#2541

He already created almost perfect packages that are pretty-much ready to
be uploaded, just a couple of minor issues.

BTW -- while we're on the topic of 2.6.32 and the next Debian release,
and 802.11, do you guys ship iw by default yet? If not I highly
encourage it. It should be shipped just as iwconfig is shipped. iw is
the replacement for iwconfig, it uses the new nl80211 and nl80211 is
used by all cfg80211 and mac80211 drivers. All new upstream drivers
have to be cfg80211 based (or mac80211) so hence why I recommend to
just ship iw by default today.

Okay, the bug is that default-jdk should be in Build-Depends and not in

It seems you're not satisfying build dependencies (d-bp with -d option?).
/usr/lib/jvm/default-java is included in default-jre-headless and
default-jdk is a builddep that depends on default-jre that depends on
 default-jre-headless.

 No, please read:
 http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-sourcebinarydeps

The problem is that default-jdk is listed in Build-Depends-Indep, while
it should be in Build-Depends because it is also required for clean
 target of debian/rules.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Could you please get the following:

Depends on what you mean by 'default'. I think there's a good case for
including it in the 'laptop' task, but not in the standard system
(desktops and servers generally don't need it). It should also be
upgraded to 'optional' priority.
