Re: RFS: mosquitto (updated version)

2010-12-23 Thread Roger Light
Hi,

I'm looking for a sponsor for my package mosquitto, detailed below.
It'd be great if someone would give me an early Christmas present by
uploading it.

There are a few warnings generated when building the package:

   dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: dependency on libgcc_s.so.1 could be
   avoided if debian/libmosquittopp0/usr/lib/libmosquittopp.so.0
   were not uselessly linked against it (they use none of its
   symbols).

The dependency on libgcc_s.so.1 is added by g++ automatically, it
isn't part of the build itself. I believe this warning is a false
positive.

   dpkg-gencontrol: warning: package python-mosquitto: unused
   substitution variable ${python:Versions}
   dpkg-gencontrol: warning: package python-mosquitto: unused
   substitution variable ${python:Provides}

I'm told that these are safe to ignore if python-support is being
used, which is the case.

* Package name: mosquitto
 Version : 0.9.1-1
 Upstream Author : Roger Light ro...@atchoo.org
* URL : http://mosquitto.org/
* License : BSD
 Section : net

It builds these binary packages:
libmosquitto0 - MQTT version 3.1 client library
libmosquitto-dev - MQTT version 3.1 client library, development files
libmosquittopp0 - MQTT version 3.1 client C++ library
libmosquittopp-dev - MQTT version 3.1 client C++ library, development files
mosquitto - MQTT version 3 compatible message broker
mosquitto-pub - Mosquitto command line publish client
mosquitto-sub - Mosquitto command line subscribe client
python-mosquitto - MQTT version 3.1 client library, python bindings

The upload would fix these bugs: 605319

My motivation for maintaining this package is that I'm the upstream
author and want to make it easier for people to get access to it.

Simple question on RFP entries

2010-12-23 Thread Yuri D'Elia
I'd like to work on an existing package request. It's bug #603078: makepp, a
make replacement that I already use since years.

What's the policy on RFP entries in that case? Should I also file an ITP to
notify others that someone is already working on it? Or should I simply close
the RFP bug in the first entry in the changelog?

Hello,

If you're working on a package, you should retitle the RFP as an ITP
and close it in the first entry of your changelog.

See http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/ for more details.

Cheers,

 Thanks. Should I also become the owner of the bug?

Yes.

RFS: mupen64plus-*-* (updated package)

2010-12-23 Thread Sven Eckelmann
Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the new version of mupen64plus. This version
was splitted in different source package because the source bundle archive
isn't dfsg compliant and doesn't contain all plugins.

This upload is for experimental because I got different request on the
mupen64plus mailing list to package the current development snapshots.

The lintian warnings you see on mentors are related to an outdated lintian
on mentors.debian.net. Please see the Debian Policy 3.9.(0|1) for more
information about the new os-any and any-arch architecture specification
strings.

I've already sent this RFS a month ago, but didn't receive any reactions.
I changed the packages slightly to adjust my mail address and to use the
mupen64plus package to function as native, meta-package similar to the
xorg package. This makes it easier to change the -all packages without
rebuilding the core each time.
