Unfortunately this still contains the sourceless PDFs so I guess the
package will be rejected by the FTPmasters.

OK, something went wrong with the upload on my end, then. The tree I
was working from has them removed.

Re: réduire la taille d'un paquet source et ajouter des paramètres spécifiques dans le fichier control

2013-08-23 Thread Zoubeïda Zarkouna
Hello,

Thank you for your response:
1- i tried to add debian/source/options but it don't work for me
my goal is to reduce source package size so i did it with -I* option

2-its OK

Now iam facing an other problem: i want to automate generating control file
it should be completed with information from rules file!
i can not do it with dh_gencontrol cause it will modify control file only
in binary file and thus i had this prob when debuiklding the package :
dh_gencontrol: No packages to build.
Any idea??

thank you

Bug#662955: RFS: rubyripper/0.6.2-1 [ITP]

2013-08-23 Thread Scott Leggett
On 23/08/13 05:01, Paul Wise wrote:

The SVG source for rubyripper.png is missing from the package.

This is not included upstream either. Does Debian have a policy of not
 accepting rasterised icons?

ftpmasters have a policy of requiring the preferred form for
modification be available and that it be possible to build results
from it on Debian (not necessarily that they be built at build time).
They may or may not notice this issue though.

 http://www.debian.org/social_contract#guidelines
 http://ftp-master.debian.org/REJECT-FAQ.html

I'll see what upstream have, but I suspect that if the SVG was
available, it would be in the tree or on the website.

No, it doesn't look safe to me either (though I hadn't noticed
 previously). See patch 6.

That is a quite ugly fix that may or may not actually fix the issue. I
would suggest that command be an array constructed in the usual way
for ruby and passed to popen, instead of just constructing a string
and then splitting it based on a regex.

You're right. I leant away from a proper patch initially due to not
wanting to make invasive changes. See the latest patch though - now
constructing the array of arguments properly.

There is no changelog included upstream.

Perhaps they would be willing to include a ChangeLog generated from
the git log or a NEWS file.

I'll file another upstream bug about this.

Thanks again.

Scott Leggett.

If I understand your question correctly: you are not allowed to do that.
You are of course allowed to create a control file from a d/rules
target, but not during the building of the package. So you have to do
that (manually) before the build starts.

Hi Daniel!

Since this is a minor update, I have already uploaded the package. Some random
remarks for the next upload:

 - The provided changelog is outdated. It is great to provide a
changelog when upstream fails so but this is a lot of work. If it is
not up-to-date, I think this is better to not bother with it.
 - Consider adding `V=1` to make arguments to enable verbose build and
   get appropriate logs for buildd.
