For custom get-orig-source targets I can also recommend: > > https://wiki.debian.org/onlyjob/get-orig-source At the time of uploading, the source had an intricate name and was at source forge. Meanwhile the upstream maintainer moved from SF to GitHub: https://github.com/IDRSolutions/maven-OpenViewerFX-src Currently there is no name issue because there is no name. I can managed the downloading and the version checking with the recent uscan (version 4) [thanks to Paul Wise]: I emitted an issue about this lake of tag, still in progress: https://github.com/IDRSolutions/maven-OpenViewerFX-src/issues/3 > > Since openviewerfx is an application, you must provide some sort of > wrapper to launch the Java app. You can either use java-wrappers (See > example [1] and [2]) or your package should depend on jarwrapper. I am not sure about that because OpenViewerFX is mainly a library. Nevertheless, there are some samples: I will have a look. Thanks a lot for the feedback and help, Víctor! > # d/patch > > Please upstream them (in case they aren't already in 0.5.2). > ... > # lintian > > there's a spelling error in manpage: accomodate accommodate (upstream > the fix). I have forwarded both those issues upstream [1], which combined with your pull request will hopefully result in being able to use the tarball directly and indeed remove the extra complexity caused by the use of git submodules once a new version is released. I'll work on the remaining issues (debian/control, debian/copyright) in the meantime, and once the new version is released will make sure that all references to the github repository are removed in favour of the PyPi tarball, and get everything ready for a final cleanup. Bug#816363: RFS: fgetty/0.7-0.1 [NMU] -- very small, efficient, console-only getty
Hi, >If pape gives up the package I'll be only happy to see another package >being updated to the newer standards :) Pape was so kind in another similar issue about giving comaintenance of a package https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=790125#70 so, you might consider this "appliable" to all the packages he has? Not sure, but lack of time is an issue, and help should be appreciated (at least it was for dropbear) cheers, G.

I forgot to add: in the case you need to make somebody aware of the bug report you're filing, you should use X-Debbugs-CC (either as a real or pseudo header). Then debbugs will send the bug report to that address after having assigned the bug number, and adding the bug address to the recipients. And BTW, dunno how, you did mail d-mentors without keeping 816363@b.d.o in CC, so the bug did not contain your message. I bounced your email, and "fixed" the recipients. > > On Tue, Mar 01, 2016 at 02:51:51AM -0500, Dmitry Bogatov wrote: > So it would be okay to have NMU with several lintian errors and heap of > warnings? Hi, >igimenez@debian:~/debian/hdparm$ gbp buildpackage --git-ignore-new [...] running debsign failed yes, you have to sign them. By default the key is searched with a match on the debian/changelog last entry. You can override it by exporting export DEBEMAIL='youremail' export DEBFULLNAME='name surname' export DEBSIGN_KEYID='key fingerprint' export DEB_SIGN_KEYID='key fingerprint' on your bashrc file. this way you can sign with no issues and your key changes file with a signature from somebody else (e.g. your sponsor will have to do it) cheers, G.
Re: hdparm needs a new maintainer
Excellent point Ginfranco That will help me for sure when I had all the changes on package ready to upload. I was trying to build it for testing purposes, so as my very much appreciated debian mentor told me, adding the options -us -uc would suffice. Hi Alex Sorry if the question is dumb... I've attached watch file that implements this idea. Thank you very much for this file: it would have been taken ages to me to understand how to write something similar. During these days, I: - integrated the watch file in the Debian package; - imported latest upstream revision of openfst 1.5.1; - discussed with upstream about tarball versioning and soname; - added a new patch 1008_fix_linking_issues.patch, replacing and extending unresolved_symbols.diff. I hope the package is now in a better state for upload. Bests, Giulio
