Sigrok RFSs
Dear Mentors, at the beggining of the last week i submitted a couple of RFSs[1] regarding to the packages related to the sigrok[2] suite and its updates since the last version released to Debian. I'll be the first to admit that it's rather big pile of stuff to review (we are talking about 6 source packages, also with soname upgrades and so on), and i also know that most of the DD community is busy with Stretch related tasks, but even then: what else (beside uploading the updated packages and file the RFSs) can i do to ease the reviewing work and mainly to find a sponsor to provide the certainly needed guidence? @Uwe, i know you explitcly stated that it's unlikely that you have time to review and packaging work, but do you have some time any chance to comment the uploaded updates? Bug#856652: RFS: xpdf/3.04.real-5 [ITA]
Sean Whitton wrote: > After the release of stretch, I intend to work on removing xpdf from the > archive for the reason that it is unmaintainable, not because it depends > on poppler. Orphaning does not mean that a package is unmaintainable. As I've stated elsewhere I will continue to be willing to help, and that includes if it doesn't get adopted, which is far preferable than the dialog seen here so far. It is up for adoption because I don't want to be the only one responsible anymore. Best wishes, Mike

If you are not capable of or willing to maintain xpdf with the poppler backend, then you should not be its maintainer. If a non-popplerized xpdf does get uploaded, it will be removed from the archive entirely since there will be no security support. Speaking as the previous maintainer, who is actually still willing to help out. Best wishes, Mike
Bug#857131: RFS: fgrun/2016.4.0-0.1 [RC, NMU]

Most of these changes are not appropriate for an NMU, so I'm marking this RFS as 'wontfix'. Since Markus has got involved in this thread, perhaps you can organise a team upload, and/or add Boyuan to the Uploaders: field. > * This package has a longstanding unfixed RC bug (FTBFS) and fell out of > Stretch release. Note that the release team's freeze policy does not allow this. -- Sean Whitton signature.asc Description: PGP signature
Bug#832941: RFS: 4pane
Dear Sean, >Unfortunately, your watch file still isn't working: > >hephaestus ~/rfs/4pane-debian-dir % uscan --download-current-version >uscan warn: In debian/watch no matching hrefs for version 4.0 in watch line > http://www.4Pane.co.uk/4pane-(.*)\.tar\.gz Ah, I wasn't testing with --download-current-version. I've uploaded a fix, and that option does now works here. Regards, David Hart
