In this case, you may push to other branch on salsa such as
seamikok/for_next, which would make the review easier.

-1~stageX means preparing version -1.
Anyway, it's not a big deal, just a lintian warning:

W: android-platform-system-core source:
maintainer-upload-has-incorrect-version-number 1:8.1.0+r23-1~stage1.1

I also confirmed armel is OK:
-
http://debomatic-armel.debian.net/distribution#experimental/android-platform-system-core/8.1.0+r23-1~stage1.1/buildlog

Hope you can address some lintian on next upload:
-
http://debomatic-armel.debian.net/distribution#experimental/android-platform-system-core/8.1.0+r23-1~stage1.1/lintian

Just uploaded to experimental.

I was planning to push the changes to Salsa after it gets uploaded. I just did

No, we will stick with this version. This release isn't a stage2 one but a fix
for the previous release, which FTBFS on armel and MIPS family.

Hi! It would be nice if you could modernize the package somewhat more.
I've uploaded -3 as-is, as every change you did was good -- incremental
improvements make my part easier, as review effort rises superlinearly
to the number of changes.

* the patch system could be simplified by using format 3.0 (quilt) -- you
  already use quilt manually so it'd possibly even work without any other
  changes

* a dh-style debian/rules would avoid the current complexity.  I did not
  try it, but at a glance I see it might even work with nothing but:

#!/usr/bin/make -f
%:
dh $@

  as long as you also list "easy_spice.1" in debian/manpages

* the menu system is obsolete and gone. Most users won't see your program
  -- you'd need to write a .desktop file, dropping the .menu

* it's nicer to depend on and run "x-terminal-emulator" rather than "xterm"
  as the number of people who prefer xterm is drastically smaller than it
  used to be.

Obviously first two points affect only the source package, the later two are
user-visible.

Good to see this package!

I just quickly checked the version on salsa, and find d/changelog is
not uploaded yet.

$ git diff --name-status 8b1e66f8 42202fb6 debian/
Mdebian/append2simg.mk
Mdebian/control
Mdebian/libadb.mk
Mdebian/libcrypto_utils.mk
Mdebian/rules
Mdebian/simg2img.mk
Mdebian/simg2simg.mk

So could you change the version to 1:8.1.0+r23-1~stage2 ?

Outreachy December - March round!

2018-09-21 Thread Molly de Blanc
Apologies for cross-posting.

It's that time of the year again: Outreachy December - March
application round!

Outreachy is a project that provides three-month internships for people
underrepresented in tech, focused entirely on free and open source
software projects. Read more about Outreachy: https://www.outreachy.org/

Debian has participated in the past, and will be doing so again this
upcoming round. This means we're looking for mentors, co-mentors, and
projects for interns.

What you should do if you think you want to participate:

- Come up with a project idea. If you're interested, but uncertain
about mentoring, finding a co-mentor can make this significantly easier;
- Add your project idea to:
https://wiki.debian.org/Outreachy/Round16/Projects;
- After your project idea is added, it will be reviewed and, if
accepted, you'll be asked to add it to the Outreachy Debian community
page .

A few more notes:
- Please keep projects Debian specific;
- You don't have to be a DD to be a mentor, but if you're not,
please try to find a co-mentor who is;
- Suggesting a project or having a great applicant (sadly) does not
mean they will definitely get funded;
- We have secured funding for two (2) interns! If there are more
really stellar applicants, we'll apply for Outreachy general funds and
try to do some fundraising on our own;
- October 16th is the deadline for listing projects, so please
submit all of your ideas by October 14th.
- For a complete timeline, see:
https://www.outreachy.org/apply/project-selection/

That's all for now!

Cheers,
Molly, on behalf of the Debian Outreach Team
