From my perspective (and I think this is also the opinion of the MIA team), it is ok for Markus to take over the package in this case, as he got the (verbal) ok from the former maintainer and we do not have reasons to believe that this is not true. IMHO there is no need to formally orphan it beforehand (and strictly it would not need an ITA either). (And still, if we find out that Roman would disagrees, he can easily be re-instatniated as maintainer.) -- tobi > I don't have enough time recently to review the work; I may examine it > later or some > other Debian Developers would review it. > > -- > Thanks, > Boyuan Yang > > > Regards, > > Markus Wurzenberger > > > > -Original Message- > > From: Boyuan Yang > > Sent: Mittwoch, 10. Bug#910837: RFS: mle/1.2-1 [ITP] -- flexible terminal-based text editor (C)
Hi Adam, Thanks for this package, the copyright file looks good to me. However there are still a couple of problems: 1. Can we avoid shipping with embedded code copy[1] of lua, termbox and uthash? . lua 5.3 and uthash are already in the archive. termbox needs to be packaged. 2. I'd recommend you to create a packaging repo so that the others can track the changes about packaging with git. Since you are also the upstream author, it's fine if you set the source format as "3.0 (native)" and push the debian directory to the upstream git repo. A separate git repo following e.g. the gbp-buildpackage workflow is also acceptable. No packaging repo is fine too but not encouraged. 3. External tools such as fzf can be leveraged by mle to enhance features. That means those packages should be listed in the "Recommends" or "Suggests" fields. Best. I am sending a mail copy to Debian QA/MIA Team since it looks like a missing-in-action scenario. Meanwhile, all latter uploads should not remove Roman from maintainer list unless he sends out a public email declaring the handover of maintenance, or the Debian MIA Team decides that his package should be orphaned. I don't have enough time recently to review the work; I may examine it later or some other Debian Developers would review it. -- Thanks, Boyuan Yang > Regards, > Markus Wurzenberger > > -Original Message- > From: Boyuan Yang > Sent: Mittwoch, 10. Bug#910591: ITA: logdata-anomaly-miner -- lightweight tool for log checking, log analysis
Hi Boyuan, unfortunately, Roman left our organization. Therefore, there is no possibility for him to make any confirmations via e-mail. Before he left, he handed me over the logdata- anomaly-miner launchpad project and repository to maintain and further develop it, as you can see here: https://launchpad.net/logdata-anomaly-miner https://git.launchpad.net/logdata-anomaly-miner Please let me know how to handle this situation so that I can keep the logdata-anomaly-miner Debian package up to date. However, it seems that the original maintainer (Roman Fiedler) never submitted the RFA or Orphaning bug to declare that this package is given up for adoption. I think an acknowledgment from the original maintainer should be necessary. Dear Roman, could you please send an public email to confirm that you are willing to have Markus taken over the package maintenance? If Markus is no longer able to send emails to make confirmation, that is another situation and needs to be handled differently. -- Regards, Boyuan Yang smime.p7s Description: S/MIME cryptographic signature
