 a dependency on debhelper-compat (= 13).

 signing key.

   * NEWS, docs: renamed NEWS.Debian to NEWS; it is no longer necessary
to list this file in docs.

   * control: Updated policy compliance to 4.6.2, no changes were
 necessary.

There's a litian warning 'debian-news-entry-has-unknown-version', this
is because Changelog entries are being trimmed, but not NEWS entries
(https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1021607 ).

Other than that, a pedantic warning about a long line in aclocal.m4
(which is an auto-generated flag), and an experimental warning about
-Wl,--as-needed. I'd rather keep this flag for the moment should the
need to target buster arise.

   * Add 0004-fix-unittest-target.patch to catch if some test targets
 are not finished (maybe happening on some buildd architectures;
 otherwise unreproducible locally)

This is a minor change vs 8.4.1-1 affecting the build system only and in
the hopes that this will allow it to proceed on armel, armhf and ppc64el
architectures. (FYI these arch:s got stuck on buildd for the previous
version, which otherwise tested fine. Upstream and local rebuilds were
unable to reproduce the hang.)

some minor issues came up during review:

* copyright: upstream years outdated (only the years for the packaging
were changed, despite the changelog claiming otherwise).
* lintian: W: gsimplecal: mismatched-override hardening-no-fortify-functions
usr/bin/gsimplecal [usr/share/lintian/overrides/gsimplecal:2]
(probably caused by a change in lintian's output format)

Please remove the moreinfo tag (and CC me directly) once you have an
updated package ready.

Bug#1051125: RFS: a2d/2.0.0-1 [ITP] -- APRS to DAPNET portal

2023-09-05 Thread Bastian Germann

I do not have a clue if this is a package that is suitable for Debian, so I
will not sponsor it.
Formally, I can say a few things.

First off, your package does not build (tried on arm64):
   dh_builddeb
dpkg-deb: error: conffile name 'etc/a2d/.creds/a2d_AnDinfo.conf' is not an
absolute pathname
dh_builddeb: error: dpkg-deb --root-owner-group --build debian/a2d .. returned
exit code 2
dh_builddeb: error: Aborting due to earlier error
make: *** [debian/rules:7: binary] Error 2
dpkg-buildpackage: error: debian/rules binary subprocess returned exit status 2

In d/changelog, you would mention the changes from one Debian revision to
another.
So for the first revision, just use the "Initial release. Closes: #1051242" and
drop
the subordinate lines.

The d/watch does not work. Maybe it used to work but GitHub has changed the
releases page.
Please fix that.

I do not get the source structure of that project. It does not really look like
a
typical python project. If it was you should make use of dh-python to build it.
The only thing you do in d/rules is copying around files, not really building
anything.

So long.
