Bug#964862: git-revice/0.6.0: pylint warning prevent Debian packaging

2020-09-03 Thread Nicolas Schier
Hi Nika,

pylint complains since version 2.6 about some 'raise' keywords in
git-revise that are not re-raising the original exceptions. These
issues currently prevent the release of the Debian package for
git-revise/0.6.0:

> ...
> lint run-test: commands[0] | pylint gitrevise
> * Module gitrevise.merge
> gitrevise/merge.py:207:12: W0707: Consider explicitly re-raising using the

Can you please review the patch (attached or [1]) and possible consider
adoption? Shall I open a github issue/pull-request for that?

Looking forward for your feedback.

Kind regards,
Nicolas

Date: Thu, 3 Sep 2020 11:25:28 +0200
Subject: [PATCH] Satisfy pylint raise-missing-from warnings

Add 'from' to re-raise exceptions. Since version 2.6, pylint complains
about four raise-missing-from issues:

  gitrevise/merge.py:207:12: W0707: Consider explicitly re-raising using the 'from' keyword (raise-missing-from)
  gitrevise/merge.py:225:12: W0707: Consider explicitly re-raising using the 'from' keyword (raise-missing-from)
  gitrevise/utils.py:73:8: W0707: Consider explicitly re-raising using the 'from' keyword (raise-missing-from)
  gitrevise/utils.py:89:12: W0707: Consider explicitly re-raising using the 'from' keyword (raise-missing-from)

Simply adding the 'from' satisfies pylint.

Bug#771288: RFS: sleepenh/1.4-1

2014-11-30 Thread Nicolas Schier
Dear Tobi,

 some remarks:

 - Please add a homepage field to d/control and d/copyright pointing to
 https://gitorious.org/sleepenh/sleepenh, to be consistent with d/watch.
 as your're declaring yourself upstream; I guess thats was your intention
 when pointing d/watch to gitorious.

done.

 - as you do not have any patches left, remove d/patches entirely.

done.

 Longer-term: Please (as you're upstream) please consider adding an
 upstream changelog.

Yes, I will do.

Thanks again for your review and helpful hints!
Kind regards,

Nicolas

Bug#766148: RFS: sleepenh/1.3.2 [ITA]

2014-10-28 Thread Nicolas Schier
Dear Tobi,

this morning I uploaded the new version to mentors

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/sleepenh/sleepenh_1.3-2.dsc

   * debian/compat is now 9 (was 5) and updated build-dependencies
   appropriately (debhelper = 9)

Somehow debian/compat was still '5' yesterday evening; it is finally
fixed now.

 d/copyright: The years for debian/* are wrong. Pedro was maintaining
 the packgage  until 2008,
 and for Files* the years are 2003-2008 (2008 is the year of the manpage)
 (Sorry, I missed that before, please ping me again.)

Thanks again for for your hints! Pedro's copyright years are fixed
(2003-2008 for '*' and 'debian/*').

 Please remove the template text from d/rules, so lines 3-12
 I think you don't need to export DH_OPTIONS.

You're right. Needless lines are now removed.

Kind regards,
Nicolas

2014-10-27 Thread Nicolas Schier
Dear Tobi,

thanks for reviewing and sponsoring! Especially the
native-vs-non-native link was quite enlightening.

A few minutes ago I uploaded the new files

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/sleepenh/sleepenh_1.3-2.dsc

including the following changes:

 * Fixed changelog for non-native package version

 * debian/compat is now 9 (was 5) and updated build-dependencies
   appropriately (debhelper = 9)

 * git-Repository moved to gitorious, updated Vcs-* fields;
   (obs: cleaned up repo history, non-ff-compatible)

 * Fixed debian/copyright:
   - Removed dead link in debian/copyright to upstream homepage (there
 is no upstream homepage anymore)
   - Mention original author also for debian/* files
   - Same license for debian/* as for upstream files

 * Removed obsolete postinst script

As far as I understood, these should fix all your remarks.

Thanks again and kind regards,
Nicolas
