I'm letting you know that I am keeping an eye on package timeshift since I
granted the original maintainer DM permission. I know the original maintainer
privately and it looks like he is extremely unlikely to work on timeshift (and
any other Debian work) in the foreseeable future. For now, I will not work on
fixing it or salvaging the package since it's a perfectly valuable chance for
you (Steve) to practice and participate in Debian's work.

Actually wrar gave some valuable advice and there are some bugs that *must* be
