RFS: bandwidthd - bandwidth monitoring daemon
Hello! I've already mailed my regular sponsor (which usually is a busy person) without any response (yet). As I really want a newer version in before Etch releases I'm sending a request for sponsorship to this list. Package description available at: http://packages.debian.org/bandwidthd The latest version fixes all reported bugs, including RC bugs, and some more: http://bugs.debian.org/bandwidthd New package available at: http://www.fatal.se/pub/debian/bandwidthd-latest/ It's lintian and linda clean (with no overrides). Things to watch out for: Please make sure that I've correctly made the maintainer changes as I've switched email address since last debian upload. (old: [EMAIL PROTECTED], new: [EMAIL PROTECTED]) Please make sure that your build environment is clean so the -noxpm version of GD is pulled in to have more options for the binary dependencies. Sorry, but it's not lintian clean: N: Processing binary package bandwidthd (version 2.0.1+cvs20050208-9) ... W: bandwidthd: init.d-script-missing-lsb-section /etc/init.d/bandwidthd N: N: This /etc/init.d script does not have an LSB keyword section (or the N: ### BEGIN INIT INFO tag is incorrect). This section provides N: description and runlevel information in a standard format and provides N: dependency information that can be used to parallelize the boot N: process. Please consider adding it. N: N: Refer to http://wiki.debian.org/LSBInitScripts for details. regards, -- Ricardo Mones. ~ Today is what happened to yesterday.

Hence I've uploaded the package as-is now to fix the outstanding issue. I trust the maintainer to address this lintian error in his next upload :) Thijs -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Please CC me to make it easier to reply as I'm not subscribed. Sorry, but it's not lintian clean: W: bandwidthd: init.d-script-missing-lsb-section Oh, sorry ... missed to check the binary package, only the source (*.dsc). Anyway, I have no useful information to provide in the LSB section. My daemon is pretty selfcontained. Seems pretty insane to not have a default instead of cluttering every init script with this header. I can make a new version providing a LSB section which basically would look the same as the example but with name and descriptions changed if anyone feels strongly for having one, otherwise I'll hold off on it and add it the next time I make a new version with other changes Please tell me if anybody consider this as a blocker for sponsoring.
