Whenever I do a new snapshot I go through the upstream diff to check for copyright statement changes and I didn't notice anything. I've now updated the year range for the packaging copyright in case that's what you meant. Some people update the upstream part by release. Not only by copyright statement changes. The release has 2018 so I asked about it. Instead of '2010-2015', '2010-2018'. This is not a problem. I did ask because maybe it was forgotten to be updated, as the year range for the packaging. Package uploaded. Thanks for your work! Regards, Herbert

Hi Jakub, Paul, Sorry for the long delay. I've had a chance to investigate now and realised that the issue was that I was using the wrong workflow for git-buildpackage and so it was simply ignoring the tarball from uscan. The new version is on mentors just now: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/plowshare/plowshare_2.1.2-1.dsc Let me know if this version is ok. Re: RFS: plowshare (Second Try)
I don't intend to sponsor this package[0][1], but here's my quick and incomplete review: There's new upstream version available. Your .orig.tar.gz isn't identical to the can be downloaded from upstream homepage. - debian/*.dirs and debian/*.manpages don't seem to be needed. The setup.sh script already takes care of creating needed directories and installing manual pages (including the one you forgot :P). Please consider shipping the bash completion file in your binary package. In DEP-5 copyright file, patterns in Files field are supposed to be separated by whitespace, not by commas. (BTW, lintian =2.5.3 would tell you that.) Just in case upstream decides to use normal version numbers again, I'd recommend using a slightly different versioning scheme for Debian: 0+MMDD-R [0] I believe that packages like this belong to experimental/contrib, not unstable/main. (This is my personal opinion, not necessarily shared by the rest of the project.) [1] Also, I try to keep away from anything that depend on ImageMagick. :P -- Jakub Wilk -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-mentors-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Re: RFS: plowshare
Hi, Dear mentors, I am looking for a sponsor for my package plowshare. * Package name: plowshare Version : 0.9.5~r1411-1 Upstream Author : Arnau Sanchez tokl...@gmail.com Matthieu Crapet mcra...@gmail.com * URL : http://code.google.com/p/plowshare/ * License : GPL-3+ Section : web It builds these binary packages: plowshare - download files for file-sharing websites utility [...] It seems to me that no one has responded to this RFS so far. So here's my comments on this package: - debian/changelog: It's nice that this is your first Debian package, but IMHO the changelog isn't the right place to keep this. - debian/dirs: why usr? - debian/control: download files for file-sharing websites utility doesn't make much sense to me. Maybe just drop utility and s/for/from/? - debian/rules: a use of debian/links could simplify your dh_links code; please consider moving to the simplified debhelper 7 debian/rules format (after all, you are depending on a particular version of debhelper) - debian/watch doesn't work for me - src/modules/* lacks copyright information. The upload would fix these bugs: 599924 My motivation for maintaining this package is: I'm an avid user of plowshare, I think is very useful for people who enjoy console apps, Upstream people are very interested in supporting a Debian package and they are very friendly, etc. The package can be found on mentors.debian.net: - URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/plowshare - Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main contrib non-free - dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/plowshare/plowshare_0.9.5~r1411-1.dsc I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.
