Bug#578685: openoffice.org-base: ooffice crashing on evolocal.odb access
Hi there, On Thu, 22. I doubt that in the meanwhile; I just discussed this a bit on IRC with SuSE: [...] If the above is correct, it shouldn't crash on GNOME for you even. (I of course tested under GNOME) I did some more digging. Result: It is working, if and only if openoffice.org-gnome ist installed solely. In this case it works, no matter the window manager in use. Removing openoffice.org-gnome (even if openoffice.org-gtk remains installed) leads to the crash. If neither openoffice.org-gnome nor openoffice.org-kde is installed, the crash occurs. If openoffice.org-kde is installed, the crash occurs. Having gtk-qt-engine and openoffice.org-gnome installed (but not openoffice.org-kde), it works. Hope that helps. No, you can also choose other external data source, then you can use many types of datasources. It's not only the wizzard what does not work. Excisting datasources stop working when you remove openoffice.org-evolution. I use the datasource with MySQL (odbc) and fastNAW, an extention what offers inserting data in a document: http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/fastNAW What do you expect OOo to do? Merge -evolution into -base? (And force a libebook-1.2-9 on anyone? Only suggest libebook-1.2-9? Which would make people wonder why their stuff doesn't work?) I think there has to be investigated why this is happening. When there is a driver missing in base, it could be added. Maybe strace can give the right information. My first goal with this bug was to make clear what the problem is when you get an error about SDBC. I have searched hours before I got it working again after updating to 3.2. Bug#578760: openoffice.org-kde: No KDE addressbook access
Package: openoffice.org-kde Severity: wishlist Hi there, I can't seem to find any discussion about this on the web as yet, so I'm starting it: The openoffice.org-kab package is unavailable on Debian/Squeeze. At least under KDE4.3, it should be working just the way it did under KDE3 since the KDE address book format has not yet changed. Moreover, there's an openoffice.org-kab package in lenny-backports, so it shouldn't be a problem on the side of openoffice.org 3, either (unless I'm missing something here). Unless Squeeze definitively aims for KDE4.4 (where an akonadi connector would be in place), I'd be happy to see Kaddressbook connectivity back on stage for Squeeze. Presently, there is no Kaddressbook support in the address data source wizard, even if openoffice.org-kde is installed. In vanilla Lenny, the package openoffice.org-kab is also missing, but Kaddressbook support in the address data source wizard shows up and the support is working (has this been repackaged somewhere else?). Being unable to directly access my KDE addressbook from within openoffice.org for me is a major reason not to upgrade from Lenny to Squeeze presently. (Though, as a workaround, from the KDE address book I can export to LDIF format, read this into evolution and use openoffice.org-evolution for accessing the addresses - but see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=578685 for more trouble.) Bug#578767: openoffice.org-calc: English setting gets ignored when importing CSV files
Package: openoffice.org-calc Version: 1:3.2.0-4 Severity: normal This bug is also present at least in version 1:3.1.1-11~bpo50+1, but I'm not sure how to set the found field in the first report, also I guess it wouldn't help so much since the BTS doesn't know about backports. OpenOffice used to have a very nice feature when importing csv files, it allowed you to set that the format of a column was US/English, and so, even though in Spanish we write 1302,22, when setting the column to English, it would automatically translate 1302.22 to the number above. Since version 3.1 in backports, and now 3.2 in squeeze, this is no longer the case. The English option is still there, but it changes no behaviour, I've tried many different things but the numbers are always interpreted as a string instead of a number. I tried searching for this bug at the OOO site, with no luck. Apparently it hasn't been reported there. This is a serious regression. Please push for a fix. Bug#578766: Patch
So, I downloaded the source code and found where SUBSTITUTE was translated to REEMPLAZAR instead of SUSTITUIR, and -maybe- fixed it.
