I had just upgraded openoffice.org-1.0.1_5 to opeoffice.org-1.0.1_6 and was navigating the Options menu attempting to look at the HTML Compatibility options. Hi .. I tried to build OOo with explicity exporting of CC/CXX to see, if libs like freetype/libdb/libz etc etc are build with gcc-3.2/g++-3.2, too. As Gerhard mentioned, the problem of the relocation error might be the usage of gcc-3.2 with gcc-2.95 and the linkage together. Eh, this specific problem was with regcomp. regcomp isn't started from
the wrapper script.
Anyway, to resolve these occuring problems it would help to add/remove
/usr/lib/openoffice/program to /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig during
post{inst,rm}.

The only solution we have then is to use libstlprt4.0, which is not in debian yet. So while we have powerpc packages for openoffice.org 1.0.1-5 that by their control file must have been built with gcc 3.2 we don't seem to have gcc 3.2 libstlport4.5 packages built with gcc 3.2. Is that kosher considering that the c++ abi changed between gcc 3.1 and 3.2? I posted a gcc 3.1.1 patch that did exactly this but it should have never
made it into any tree since all it did was workaround a gcc 3.1.1 pre
compiler problem (gcc headers never had the throw() which was actually
spec (set_new_handler may not throw any exceptions according to the rules)
but gcc was never picky about the throw specifier before 3.1.1 pre.
So please back out the patch in memmgr.cxx (probably that came from my gcc
3.1.1 patch) that comments out the throw() on the set_new_handler code (to
make it look like it did previously) and you should be fine.
I so sorry to bother you .. I forget to drop one the patches :)
