That is the latest reported version for this bug, and it remains
unreproducible for the maintainers.

(A subsequent discussion on this bug report by a different user was
discovered not to be a bug at all, so does not relate to the described
behaviour.)

Since the latest reported version is now earlier than any supported
Debian release, and no further information to reproduce the bug was
reported here, I am closing this bug report.

Johannes, if you are able to supply steps to reliably reproduce this
behaviour in a current LibreOffice package in Debian, please re-open
this report or start an new one.

Just tried it with the same version on my sid:

LANG=de_DE - lowriter. Atuo. Underlined. Suggestions: Auto and Asus.
 Works.
(of course with having hunspell-de-de installed)

LANG=C lowriter. Atuo. (Didn't notice german, but that of course
is impossible here for too less infos). Fomat-Character.
German (Germany) for the text. Underlined. Suggestions: Auto and Asus.
 Works.

LANG=C lowriter. Cra. Underlined. Many suggestions, amonst them Car.
 Works.

How do you think should spellchecking work if you didn't install any dict? ;)

Ping? Can we close this non-bug or do you have more info besides your initial
post which is invalidated?

Regards,

Rene

Hi,

From what? (-4 to -4+b1 was just a rebuild without any change.)
And all of 3.4 and 3.5 use the same hunspell lib, use the same paths
of dicts, and there's no dict behaviour change in 3.5 afaik.[1] (And it

integration with hunspell as the spellchecking engine fails.

How?

Spellchecking functionality may be recovered by installing myspell-
 rather then hunspell-dictionaries.

And as we see below, you haven't installed either one

What happens if you install a matching dictionary for your language
(and set the document language to that?)
Given your locxale is en_US the default text document langauge
then of course is en_US...

Regards,

Rene

[1] There has been a switch libtextcat - libexttextcat so that might have
broken the *automatic language detection*, but not the *spellchecking* itself

That can't be it AFAICS (I checked the obvious places) - this is correct, too.

libexttextcat0 is built, the data gets correctly installed by make install into
correct path[1].
That value from the .pc is used in the LO build [2] and this should be in the
registry/spool/org/openoffice/Office/Paths-externallibexttextcatdata.xcu file,
too.

A recommends on libexttextcat-data is not needed as LO links against
libexttextcat0 which
depends on its data already.

Rene
