I have no problem but I didn't see the hub power switching patch on my
git commit logs and it wasn't in linus tree yesterday at least :) I'll
dbl check later today. It's on greg's queue though for sure so it
 should be in 2.6.12 hopefully.

Yes, I was mistaken, what I wanted to say is that it's in gregkh and
-mm :)
I hope it'll go in, it could be one of the first perfect kernel for
apple laptops !

Hrm... can you try to edit

 lis r4,0xfff0
 1: lwz r0,0(r4)
 addir4,r4,32

 And change the line

 lis r4,0xfff0

 to

 li r4,0

and tell me if that helps...

Hi Ben,

An earlier email from you on this subject mentioned three instances of lis
r4,0xfff0 to change. Should I be changing all three as per that earlier
email, or just the one as you noted here?

Thanks!

Steve

it seems that changing the L1 one is enough. This is what I commited to
2.6.12-rc and should be in -rc4 when released.

Re: Powerbook3,5 Radeon R250 Apple Cinema Display Dual Head

I know this has been beat to death on the list, but this particular
combination is probably the nastiest. I'm trying to get the 23 Apple
Cinema Display to work as a secondary head (I would be happy with a
clone, or just having work alone as well). I have this working with a
NEC LCD, using a VGA-DVI connector to, but I always get the problem
that the Apple Cinema Display doesn't turn on even though it is probed
correctly by xorg. I gathered from the list that on the latest xorg
 snapshot (6.8.99.5
 http://xorg.freedesktop.org/snapshots/xorg-x11-6.8.99.5.tar.bz2) that
 included this patch
 http://lists.freedesktop.org/pipermail/xorg/2005-April/007250.html
that would indicate that it should fix this bug, but from what I can
tell it did not. (I'm running it now.). I also saw that
linux-2.6.12-rc has the same fix, but for the FB. I'm not runnnig
2.6.12-rc yet, do I need both to get it working in xorg?

I can post configs and logs by request, they are a bit long though.

As I wrote several times, the DVI output of laptops is not working yet
because of some hard coded assumptions in X that a secondary digital
display is always using the secondary DVI output (while on laptops with
an internal LVDS panel, it's actually the primary output).

It's possible to make it work by whacking a few chip registers after X
launches, but that's an ugly hack. I haven't yet had a chance to try to
code a fix.

Re: autoload modules

It is my understanding that modules will auto load with an
appropriate alias in /etc/modprobe.d/alias for 2.6.x. I have not
been
able to get snd-powermac to load when I use xmms to play sound. Any
ideas?
