 Hi!
 I'd like to offer my support related to scientific python packages:

 I have already started to push some to Ubuntu:

 * PPA:

 * and REVU:

 The Ubuntu MOTUs require that the packages land first in Debian.

In my comment on REVU I stated I would suggest...! By no means is it
a requirement to get your package into Debian first. However from my
own past experiences IMHO you would get better, more timely reviews of
your package by joining PAPT and PMPT.

  Welcome in PAPT, Tim :-)
 Thanks. What do I do next?
 Try to apply the comments to the package?
 And then?

inject it into our repo (example command is in the policy)
and ask for review (f.e. by adding package name to #debian-python's
/topic)

2010-01-20 Thread Jonathan Thomas
Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package openshot.

* Package name: openshot
 Version : 1.0.0-1
 Upstream Author : Jonathan Thomas jonathan.oo...@gmail.com
* URL : http://www.openshotvideo.com
* License : GPLv3
 Section : video

It builds these binary packages:
openshot - Non Linear Video Editor using Python and MLT

The package appears to be lintian clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 564945

My motivation for maintaining this package is: I am the upstream
author, and have already packaged openshot for my LaunchPad PPA. I
would love to have openshot included in Debian. =)

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/o/openshot
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable
main contrib non-free
- dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/o/openshot/openshot_1.0.0-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Kind regards
 Jonathan Thomas

Since debootstrap works, you can also just debootstrap sid and work in

Anyway, I managed to update pbuilder to sid and built the package
successfully. I'll try to find out why pbuilder didn't work soon.

Thanks for all your help!
