Bug#1061212: Please upgrade to llvm-toolchain-17

2024-01-20 Thread Sylvestre Ledru

Source: emscripten
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

As part of the effort to limit the number of llvm packages in the
archive, it would be great if you could upgrade to -17.

This package depends on 14.

Thanks,
Sylvestre

Bug#1000928: codelite: Please upgrade to llvm-toolchain-12 or 13

2021-11-30 Thread Sylvestre Ledru
Source: codelite
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

As part of the effort to limit the number of llvm packages in the
archive, it would be great if you could upgrade to -13 (or -12).

Bookworm won't ship with llvm-toolchain-11

llvm-defaults is now pointing to -13.

Thanks,
Sylvestre

One of them needs to be renamed, or both.

Or change the Debian policy as it is a waste of our time... and no gain
for the user. ;)

I agree with Paul, this is a blocker for a simple replacement.
We cannot break user software without a migration helper.

Bug#757317: [cloud-scripts]: cqa-compare-ref-rebuild: Relative path use is failing

2014-08-07 Thread Sylvestre Ledru
Package: qa.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hello,

$ cqa-compare-ref-rebuild -s /tmp/log-clang-05-08-14 -o
log-clang-05-08-14-results -i clang

Is failing with:

generating clang results list: log-clang-05-08-14-results/clang.res
sh: 1: cannot create log-clang-05-08-14-results/clang.res: Directory nonexistent
generating normal results list: log-clang-05-08-14-results/normal.res
sh: 1: cannot create log-clang-05-08-14-results/normal.res: Directory
nonexistent

log-clang-05-08-14-results/ is created but I guess cqa-compare-ref-rebuild is
moving directory after.

cqa-compare-ref-rebuild -s /tmp/log-clang-05-08-14 -o
/home/sylvestre/log-clang-05-08-14-results -i clang
works

Cheers,
Sylvestre

That doesn't seem like a good idea, they serve completely different
purposes and debile doesn't do builds with clang/llvm. Sylvestre, what
 is happening with clang.debian.net?

It seems that there is a confusion here.

clang.debian.net is working and well (I am planning a new update very soon).
buildd-clang.debian.net, about which Hideki contacted me, is dead (we
were so sick of wanna-build
that we decided to start debile).

So, links to buildd-clang.debian.net should be updated to debile but
links clang.debian.net
should remain until debile is fully up running.

Hello,

For example, with this log (not clang specific), the log shows is failed on

For example:

It seems to be from collab-qa/log-parser-build.rb

Using ulimit -n 8192 does not change the issue.

Bug#715400: cloud-scripts: Please report some time information

2013-07-08 Thread Sylvestre Ledru
Package: qa.debian.org
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

It would be nice during a full rebuild to have some timing with the periodic
report.
For example, we could have:
[478] *** total: 18855 OK: 10 (0%) To retry: 4 (0%) Failed: 0 (0%)
[478] *** 2013-08-06 22:42 - Started XXX minutes ago

It would help to know for how long it has been running.

Hello,

It would be nice to have a command to get a list of packages being currently
built or waiting in the build list.

This would help, especially at the end of a rebuild (when only big packages are
being rebuilt), to have some ideas of what is remaining.

Thanks,

Freeze of masternode during an Amazon rebuild

I don't see any common points.

 Woops!

At this time, you didn't had any preference on the format. Is it still
the case ? I write some various formats if you want.

Lets start with a newline separated list of source packages that the
PTS should link to. It will link to the clang source package URLs with
 the text clang build issues.

It is was you expect ?
http://clang.debian.net/pts.php

It is basically
$1 = package name
$2 = version
$3 = url to the log
$4=end = the detected error

Not sure you need the last item.

The PTS should link to clang.debian.net for packages that fail to
build with LLVM/Clang. More information about clang.d.n is here:

 http://sylvestre.ledru.info/blog/sylvestre/2013/02/06/rebuild_of_debian_using_clang_3_2

  Requirements from the clang.d.n site:

Per-source-package pages with predictable URLs and links to build
 logs.

A list of source packages which the PTS should link to. This can
just be a new-line separated list of packages.

If more than just a link is needed, machine-readable info about
what should be presented will be needed.
I can do that this week end. :)

Great! So I can prepare few packages in addition to these. How much time
do I have? Only time before freeze or time before freeze plus some days?
The sooner, the better. You are probably aware that the freeze is in 7 days.
However, I would like to know if you could adopt them to insure the
 future maintenance.
Unfortunately no, I have no plans to maintain these packages constantly.
Well, I hope you will maintain them a bit once we sponsored them (at
least for regressions).

I found them during observing the list of orphaned packages with important
and normal bugs. Such bugs are less popular than serious, grave and critical,
but someone should care about them. Also orphaned packages usually have some
 room for improvements.

Also I want to create git repositories in collab-maint for these packages
if/when Alioth administrators give me access. This should simplify their
 future updates.

Indeed.

2012-01-18 Thread Sylvestre Ledru
Hello,

It has been a long time since the last upload of hdf5 in unstable but
here it is, version 1.8.8 is in unstable!

I need your help with the transition [1].
In most of the cases, a renamed of the build dep libhdf5-serial-dev =
libhdf5-dev with a rebuild should be enough. Otherwise, don't hesitate
to ping me.

While it should not impact you much, changes are important [1]:
   * Since upstream is now trying to keep a consistent ABI/API, packages
have been renamed from libhdf5-xxx-X.Y.Z (X, Y and Z being the version
number) to libhdf5-xxx-7 (7 being the version of the soname)
  * The package libhdf5-serial-* have been renamed to libhdf5-7 or
libhdf5-dev
  * Symbol files have been added for all the libraries.
  * arm archs have also libhdf5-openmpi-dev
  * Support of HURD, armhf s390x
  * Help is now up to date and the debian/html.tgz.uu removed
(thanks to the source format v3.0, two source tarballs are now
used)
  * A new package hdf5-helpers which contains h5cc, h5c++ and h5fc
has been introduced
  * Fix many lintian warnings
  * Java HDF has been updated to version 2.8

There is the list of the impacted packages, sorted by maintainer is
available at [3] (I am aware that most of you will received duplicate
emails and I apologize).

Bug#569352: sun-java6: Broken URL in debconf to complete license

2010-02-11 Thread Sylvestre Ledru

Today a call for translation updates was made (only to some lists,
e.g. German and Swedish, but not e.g. for French or to -i18n for new
translations). Looking at the strings the user is requested to accept
a license, where more information supposedly is found on
 http://java.sun.com/notes

 This page, however, is 404.

While I wonder why those information cannot be stored locally
(probably because it can only be reviewed *after* the package has been
installed) it has to be ensured that the user *can* review the
 license before installation.

A possible solution would be to place the license on a server under
your (or Debians) control thus availablility can be ensured during the
 entire lifetime of this package.
OK, I will have a look on this bug in the next few days.

This happened probably because I sent an update for French today with
a text suggesting the maintainer to issue such calls for translations
 when changing templates.

So, (s)he of course had a complete French translation, hence no call
to the French list. And (s)he probably didn't use the --call switch of
po-debconf-reportpo, hence no call for new translations in -i18n
My bad, I am not familiar with the debconf localization process.

Next time I would be glad if you could wait a little for my feedback
