GNOME and KDE use a full-screen below-everything-else window to draw
desktop icons. Apparently, that's the only way to do such things in X.
The problem is that xdkcal tries, and succeeds, to put itself below that
window. The result is that xdkcal is completely hidden and there's no
way to bring it to the front. This is a common problem with programs
that draw to the root window, but xdkcal seems to create its own window.

It might be possible to fix this with some kind wm hint, but I'm no X
wizard. If this can't be fixed, I suggest putting some kind of note in
the description or the man-page.

xdkcal shows wrong month. It shows previous month e.g. october in
november.
It is probably an error with numbering months from 0 not from 1.
To reproduce just run it. The bugs shows up in locale en_US too.

  Hi,

  With latest Beagle uploade (version 0.2.10-2) I have splitted
  beagle-dev in two packages: the old beagle-dev will from now on only
  contain files needed for C#, while there is a new libbeagle-dev
  package for C stuff.

  As I think you are only using C bindings, you should build depend on
  libbeagle-dev, and you will also benefit on not needing to install
  beagle to compile this package.

  Cheers,

xdkcal shows wrong month. It shows previous month e.g. october in
november.
It is probably an error with numbering months from 0 not from 1.
To reproduce just run it. The bugs shows up in locale en_US too.

I think of xdkcal as being part of my desktop background, and this seems
to be the suggested usage, as it attempts to look as much like the
desktop as it can. However, it's quite easy for other user windows to
end up *underneath* the xdkcal, which is annoying, and kind of
confusing, since they look like they are underneath the desktop
background.

Is there some kind of X window-property that xdkcal can use to tell
window managers to keep it beneath `normal' user-windows? [I use sawmill]

In ./sdr_3.0/src/sap_crypt.c

  memset(keylist-keyname, MAXKEYLEN, 0);
  memset(keylist-key, MAXKEYLEN, 0);
  strncpy(keylist-keyname, keyname, MAXKEYLEN);
  strncpy(keylist-key, key, MAXKEYLEN);

It should be memset(keylist-keyname, 0, MAXKEYLEN) etc. Also strncpy does
not gaurantee null termination. Maybe strncpy MAXKEYLEN - 1 once the memset
is fixed, or solve equivalently.

It's certainly not a problem in guessnet (the only problem that
could be solved related to guessnet is to start it earlier, but
this is not the guessnet package that decides to start it).

The information from the link status comes from ethtool. So I reassign
the bug to it.

Bug#619868: guessnet: please suggest netplug

2011-03-27 Thread Vincent Lefevre
Package: guessnet
Version: 0.53-2
Severity: wishlist

guessnet should suggest netplug, which is an alternative to ifplugd:

Description: network link monitor daemon
 This daemon monitors the link status of network cards and configures
 the network on plug- and un-plug-events.
 .
 It's similar to ifplugd, but uses NETLINK instead of regularly polling
 the link status. This improves power-consumption with laptops, but does
 not work with all network card.
