Apparently, that's the only way to do such things in X. The problem is that xdkcal tries, and succeeds, to put itself below that window. The result is that xdkcal is completely hidden and there's no way to bring it to the front. This is a common problem with programs that draw to the root window, but xdkcal seems to create its own window. It might be possible to fix this with some kind wm hint, but I'm no X wizard. If this can't be fixed, I suggest putting some kind of note in the description or the man-page. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.5 Locale: LANG=nl_BE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=nl_BE.UTF-8 Versions of packages xdkcal depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libsm64.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System Session Management ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System client libraries m -- no debconf information ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Version: 0.9d-3+rm xdkcal has been removed from Debian unstable: http://bugs.debian.org/525432 Closing its bugs with a Version higher than the last unstable upload.
