Re: SystemSettings
On Thu, Jan 7, 2010 at 4:25 AM, Peter Besenbruch p...@lava.net wrote: Two items, possibly related: System Settings crashes when clicking on System and PolicyKit authorization. Crashing is instant and happens every time. http://lists.debian.org/debian-kde/2009/12/msg00086.html Installing the policykit package will fix the crash, but since policykit is deprecated now in favor of policykit-1, there is noting useful you can do with this systemsettings module. It will probably be removed from the debian packages in kde 4.4, since it hasn't been ported yet to policykit-1. System settings will not run as administrator. By that I mean it will not run with Gksu from a menu, or from a root terminal (with xhost set properly). Works for me: su-to-root -X -c systemsettings. If this still doesn't work, try dbus-launch systemsettings from a root terminal. I ran across these bugs when trying to run programs as a different user (which also doesn't work). kdebase-workspace override disparity
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the override file for the following file(s): kdm_4.3.4-4_amd64.deb: package says section is x11, override says kde. klipper_4.3.4-4_amd64.deb: package says section is x11, override says kde. Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell, httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video, xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package at the next upload. Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information. Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the following format: Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please. Bug#448494: Still an issue
Hello. I am also affected by this issue on current Debian Squeeze (fontconfig 2.8.0-2, libqtcore4 4:4.5.3-4). All Qt4 applications do not respect the system-wide setting that the font hinting and anti-aliasing should be enabled. The attached screenshot shows a window of qt3-qtconfig (in the background) which uses proper anti-aliased fonts, and a window of qt4-qtconfig (in the foreground) with bad fonts. I do not have the ttf-arphic-uming or ttf-wqy-zenhei packages installed, which are mentioned above as possibly causing the problem. -- With respect, Roman attachment: 2010-01-08-0238-qt4config-fonts.png signature.asc Description: PGP signature
