Bug#581523: phonon-backend-xine: doesn't play files with non-ascii characters in path

2010-05-13 Thread Jiří Paleček

Package: phonon-backend-xine
Version: 4:4.6.0really4.4.0-4
Severity: normal

Hello,

amarok and bangarang refuse to play files if their pathname contains a
non-ascii character (like č or ř) and the locale is not an utf-8 one. From
strace, it seems they are trying to open the file using utf-8 encoded
filename, which fails.

This seems to be related to this upstream bug, that has been fixed more
than a year ago: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172242

Regards
   Jiri Palecek

Hi,

the kde-l10n entry in experimentals Sources.gz is missing md5sums for
some of its files and the sha1 and sha256 entries disagree. This
breaks the trust chain and kde-l10n can't be verified properly (=
critical).

FTBFS: qt4-x11 on Renesas SH4

2010-05-13 Thread Nobuhiro Iwamatsu
Hi, all.

I am now trying to run Debian on Renesas SH(sh4) CPU.
http://buildd.debian-ports.org/status/architecture.php?suite=unstablea=sh4

qt4-x11 FTBFS on SH4.

http://buildd.debian-ports.org/fetch.php?pkg=qt4-x11ver=4%3A4.6.2-4arch=sh4stamp=1271327626file=logas=raw
http://buildd.debian-ports.org/fetch.php?pkg=qt4-x11ver=4%3A4.6.2-4arch=sh4stamp=1271679778file=logas=raw
http://buildd.debian-ports.org/fetch.php?pkg=qt4-x11ver=4%3A4.6.2-4arch=sh4stamp=1272460808file=logas=raw

The places failing in build every time are different.

I do not have knowledge about Qt. Where should I examine it from?
Could you have a hint to debug?

If you can help about this problem, you can use porterbox of SH4.
# but this porterbox is unofficial.

Best regards,
 Nobuhiro

Bug#581589: kdebase-runtime: unclear on how to create useful crash reports

2010-05-13 Thread Ryo Furue
Package: kdebase-runtime
Version: 4:4.3.4-2
Severity: normal

I was told: Please read _How to create useful crash reports_ . . .
So, I clicked on the link. At the linked webpage, I was told:

Debian - Debian offers -dbg packages to easy create useful
backtraces. Just install the corresponding -dbg package.
e.g. kdepim-dbg for KMail crashes.

But I don't know what the corresponding -dpg package is for konsole.
There is no konsole-dpg .

Cheers,
Ryo

Bug#543733: Still relevant

2010-05-13 Thread Segnalazioni Nephila
I recently upgraded to KDE SC 4.4.3 from sid along with knetworkmanager
(I didn'thave this package before) and comic and weather plasmoid
stopped working.

As soon as I deinstalled network-manager the problem was gone.
I can consistently reproduce the problem:
- clean install, KDE SC 4.4.3, knetworkmanager installed, no
configuration of /etc/network/interfaces: plasmoid works

- manual configuration for eth0 in /etc/network/interfaces: plasmoid broken
- manual configuration for eth0 in /etc/network/interfaces but connected
to wlan via network manager: plasmoid works
