Bug#584739: kontact: Kaddressbook component does not manage to connect with akonadi

2010-06-06 Thread Johannes Graumann
Package: kontact
Version: 4:4.4.4-1
Severity: important

When starting kontact and switching to the kaddressbook component, Akonadi not
operational always shows up, the underlying cause being that supposedly no
agents
are found ($XDG_DATA_DIRS is set to /usr/share/:/usr/share/akonadi/agents/).
Shutting kontact down and doing akonadictl stop sleep 10 akonadictl
start,
followed by restarting kontact fixes the problem.

From my side, that was partly because I assumed you'd wait for an
explicit ack. I should have replied sooner to confirm that; sorry for
not doing so.

I intend to upload to unstable this week.

Please don't upload yet.

The big issue here is that we can't currently build kdebase-runtime on
hppa, due to kde4libs FTBFS there (see #561203). It looks like this
will be worked around in qt4-x11 soon but I'd rather not start a
transition knowing that we can't currently finish it.

Konsole copies tab characters as spaces. This makes pasting
tabularly-formatted data into OpenOffice difficult.

To reproduce:
echo -e a\tb

Copy the resulting output

run xxd, and paste the resulting output on the console (into xxd's
standard input)

[bl...@zuni CORPUS_huliu]$ echo -e a\tb

(I would hope to see xxd give the output

 Hello
This will not be fixed in Konsole
See this upstream bug for an explanation:
 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146146

I'm reopening because they're wrong. The test works just fine in rxvt,
demonstrating that the problem isn't from somewhere lower in the
software stack. They should be able to fix it.

I'll submit a new upstream bug to let them know.

   Version: 4:4.4.4-1
   Severity: important

When starting kontact and switching to the kaddressbook component,
Akonadi not operational always shows up, the underlying cause being
that supposedly no agents are found ($XDG_DATA_DIRS is set to
   /usr/share/:/usr/share/akonadi/agents/). Shutting kontact down and
doing akonadictl stop sleep 10 akonadictl start, followed by
   restarting kontact fixes the problem.

This could be a duplicate of 583566

XDG_DATA_DIRS looks weird though, its paths should end in /share, e.g.
  /usr/share:/usr/local/share

Changing to that XDG_DATA_DIRS in /etc/bash.bashrc doesn't change anything.

I am not certain that this file will be read by the shell executing startkde
or even worse be in the environment of whatever starts the D-Bus session bus.

Anyway, this is almost certainly not the problem here since /usr/share is OK
and in the variable's list.

You might want to investigate where the wrong entry comes from, though.

Cheers,
Kevin

Bug#584633: kde-l10n-sr: duplicate ktorrent.mo which is also in ktorrent-data

2010-06-06 Thread Ralf Treinen
Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  /usr/share/locale/s...@ijekavian/LC_MESSAGES/ktorrent.mo
  /usr/share/locale/s...@ijekavianlatin/LC_MESSAGES/ktorrent.mo
  /usr/share/locale/s...@latin/LC_MESSAGES/ktorrent.mo
