I have the ok from the Release Managers to consider this issue

I'm going to wait a week before raising severities, but since this bug
is in pending state, I'd appreciate if you could make an upload
before that.

Thanks.

Hi,

indeed, it was unchecked. This fixes the problem.

However, I am a bit annoyed by KMail changing its own setting with every
update. Last time, it magically enabled the Reply-To filed in the composer -
this time, it disabled Reply-To, disabled Identity and enabled the From field.

Ok, I've forwarded your report upstream.

Ups, I forgot to upload src:akonadi4 to unstable, that is currently only in

Bug#830867: kmail: Identity drop-down in mail editor vanished

2016-07-13 Thread Dominik George
Hi,

> Please check that you have the identity field enabled (composer window,
> view, identity).

indeed, it was unchecked. This fixes the problem.

However, I am a bit annoyed by KMail changing its own setting with every
update. Last time, it magically enabled the Reply-To filed in the composer -
this time, it disabled Reply-To, disabled Identity and enabled the From field.

Package: plasma-workspace
Version: 4:5.6.5.1-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

After the last KDE package upgrade in Debian stretch (about a week ago), right
click on the workspace has suddenly stopped working.

Most applications and certain notification area icons still respond, but the
task bar and desktop don't recognize the right mouse click any more.
It is unclear if this was caused by the KDE upgrade or some other event.

I already tried creating a clean user account and logging into that, but the
problem persists.

The desktop toolbox still works, so functionality can still be accessed, but it
is still a major inconvenience.

After the upgrade to 16.04, I do not have a drop-down list to select the
sender identity in the mail editor anymore. Instead, there is now an
unhelpful text field. I can change its content, but that doesn't help
anything.

Please check that you have the identity field enabled (composer window, view,
identity).

Happy hacking,

Looks like a shlib symbols file issue in the latter package,
after a wild chase through dependencies (meh, when I compiled
KDE 1 manually, it was so few packages and thus so easy…)
which I trust you’ll fix soon, then.

(This bug is holding my work calendar hostage… it contains
elements that don’t show up in the G**gle crap webinterface,
although I could successfully extract them from the iMip in
my sent-mail folder, thankfully.)

That makes sense. I just had assumed that closely tied package sets
like the Plasma workspace already had some sort of dependency chain in
place to prevent updating one package without all the others.

While trying to debug #830762 (to see if the new messages are in fact
downloaded) I tried to start akonadiconsole, with, well, limited success:

Once again, please upgrade akonadiconsole to 4:16.04.2-2. I'll add the kmail,
korganizer and akonadiconsole breaks to new akonadi-server.

That was indeed the case.
Upgrading all listed packages to 5.23 from sid fixed it for me.

Why is there no protection against this sort of thing?
It's been broken for more than a week now...

Because until the bug reports started coming in, it was not known.
In the future it is very likely that measures will be taken so that all those
framework packages do migrate at the same time, but I'm not aware of a method
to undo the past.

That's why I've written that mail to the mailing list to warn people about the

After the recent KDEPIM-related updates (including involving a wallet
migration, which seems to have worked, and a reboot, so the last traces
of old Akonadi/KDEPIM are gone from the process table), parts of Kontact
stop working altogether.

You haven't upgraded kmail, so it seems that you haven't a fully upgraded
kdepim. Make sure that you have the version 4:16.04.2-2 installed.

The same happens for the Calendar component – the bottom-left part which
normally holds the various calendars and their colours is empty.

Similarly, korganizer also needs to be upgraded to 4:16.04.2-2.

Interestingly enough, the Feeds component not only works but shows very
up-to-date content (as of this morning), so it’s not a general Kontact
problem.

That's akregator.

Bug#830689: akonadiconsole: segfault on resourse remote configuration refresh operation

Package: akonadiconsole

I have found ical and mailbox resources are broken after update. I tried to
check resourses' settings on akonadikonsole:
- pointed to broken service and right-click on it
- choose configure - configure remotely
- in opened window click refresh

akonadiconsole crashes on this point with segfault.

The expected behaviour is not to crash..

Have you closed your kde session after upgrading akonadi?

You are using a derivative from Debian, but reporting the issue to Debian, we
don't provide support for this kind of reports, I would expect that Devuan has
it's own bug tracker to send the reports to, and if the issue is reproducible
without the changes made by Devuan then it would make sense to have it in the
Debian bug tracker. In most cases even to provide any useful input we would
need to know the changes made by Devuan.

Could you check if this is something Devuan specific?

Happy hacking,
