Bug#828523: Won't be fixed for stretch
As I have previously noted in this bug: we will *not* have SSL 1.1 support for Qt5 on time. for the Qt5 case we don't even have a prposed patch and a few weeks before freeze is not the right moment to do this. Regards, Lisandro. -- Programming is really just the mundane aspect of expressing a solution to a problem. There are talents that are specifically related to actually coding, but the real issue is being able to grasp problems and devise solutions that are detailed enough to actually be coded. Re: Bug#828522: QT4 and OpenSSL 1.1.0: [was Re: OpenSSL 1.1.0]
I have just noted that this bug has been marked as RC. As I have wrote before: we have a patch that has *not* been tested with time and will not be ACKed by upstream. Moreover few weeks before the freeze is *not* the moment to do such a change because we have no time to really test the changes are really functional. I won't personally go any further with this until stretch+1, so if you plan to continue with this be ready to remove qt4 and all it's reverse dependencies from the archive. Regards, Lisandro. -- You know it's love when you memorize her IP number to skip DNS overhead. Bug#842174: [sddm] sddm crashes when second session is started
Control: tag -1 + moreinfo ¡Hola Johannes! El 2016-10-26 a las 18:03 +0200, Johannes Zarl-Zierl escribió: Package: sddm Version: 0.13.0-1 Severity: normal --- Please enter the report below this line. --- On my system, sddm crashes when I open a second login session, thus closing/ killing my original session and active programs. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start a plasma session as user A 2. Lock screen 3. Choose "Start new session" on screen lock -> The sddm login session is shown 4. Start a session as user B 5. At this point "ps -flu A" shows that the first session is already dead I regularly use a second session to test random stuff, so I don't think that this is a general issue. I'd rather suspect that the X for the user A is dying when starting a second X. This can happen for some video drivers. Surely sddm could behave more gratefully in this case, instead of segfaulting, though. To test my hypothesis I would need you to try starting a second session using a different display manager. If this fails in a similar way, then probably the video driver that you are using is the culprit, if not, something else is causing sddm to segfault and we would need some extra debugging information. About the extra debugging information, we would need a core file of the segfault, one of the simpler ways to obtain the coredump of a daemon is to simply install systemd-coredump, this should capture the coredumps and put them under /var/lib/systemd/coredump (more about systemd-coredump in https://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/systemd-coredump.html) This is, of course, only one of many ways to obtain the coredump. You could also stop the sddm service, and start the /usr/bin/sddm command as root from a vt, after setting ulimit -c unlimited (make sure that nothing has mangled the kernel.core_pattern value in this case). The interesting snippet from journalctl: Okt 25 23:22:27 mani sddm[4650]: Adding new display on vt 8 ... Okt 25 23:22:27 mani sddm[4650]: Display server starting... When it segfaults, it takes the X of the user A with it, and the greeter that you see is shown because systemd restarted sddm after it died. Bug#842085: unknown protocol help, no clue what's required
¡Hola Eduard! El 2016-10-25 a las 20:44 +0200, Eduard Bloch escribió: Package: khelpcenter Version: 4:16.08.2-1 Severity: minor I installed khelpcenter because some other k-Program needed it to display help. But there was no help. I checked error logs, found missing kdeinit5 so I installed kinit package. Still not able to display help: I'm assuming by your report that you are installing "k-Program" in a clean installation. I tried to reproduce the issue using konsole in a clean install, running in an openbox session. khelpcenter wasn't installed, but the help was shown with w3m, so I guess it's fine to avoid installing it as a konsole dependency. After installing khelpcenter it complained about not being able to find klauncher, so I've added a kinit as a dependency to khelpcenter. Then, I hit the unknown protocol message, so I installed kio, and added the kio package to be added as a dependency to packages that link against the kio libs. I guess this should cover it, but the kio dependency would only be added in the next rebuild. couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave:\nklauncher said: Unbekanntes Protokoll „help“.\n" kf5.kio.core: Refilling KProtocolInfoFactory cache in the hope to find "help" You'll need to install the kio package. So I guess something is still missing but I have no idea what this is. And the package information does not support me. There should be at least a list of Suggested packages that would make it work. Thanks for reporting.

Divertentissimo e, come tutti i grandi, profondamente stimolante». Booklist «Un libro folle, meraviglioso, succulento». Ha tre figli e vive a New York.
