Dear Maintainer,

the mySQL update killed the akonadi configuration and leaves Kmail and
KOrganizer and Adressbook unusable.

i report this to general, for the simple fact, that someone should have checked
in general that this update does not kill importat work related computers PIM
capabilities. I now have no email and my kalendar wich not only contains my
apointments but my journal and my todo list is also blocked.

here is the console output of akonadi failing to start:

Akonadi currently uses dbus-launch to run autopkgtests. As described in
 I'm trying
to reduce how much dbus-launch is used in Debian.

In akonadi's case it looks as though it would be simple to replace with
dbus-run-session:

* replace dbus-x11 with dbus (>= 1.8) in d/tests/control

* replace "dbus-launch --exit-with-session" with "dbus-run-session --"
  in d/tests/testsuite

Thanks,
S

Package: korganizer
Version: 4:4.14.1-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

When I started it today, korganizer greeted me with the message 'The
Akonadi personal information management service is not operational'.
It won't show my calendar, hence the 'important' severity: I could not
access my calendar any longer.

> Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
>
> * What led up to the situation?

I could not tell exactly. I probably upgraded some packages or
uninstalled others.

> * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
> ineffective)?

The report suggested the problem was linked with my MySQL
installation. It looked like mysql-server-core-5.5 package was
installed but not mysql-server.

An 'apt-get install mysql-server' installed MySQL server and that
fixed the problem. But it looks like a dependency is missing somewhere.

Yours,

J. Courant.

Bug#845372: qtbase-opensource-src: Please enable m68k in double-conversion

2016-11-22 Thread John Paul Adrian Glaubitz
Source: qtbase-opensource-src
Version: 5.7.1~20161021+dfsg-6
Severity: normal
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: m68k

Hello!

With the update to 5.7.x, qtbase-opensource-src now fails to build
from source on Linux/m68k. This is because the embedded third-party
package 'double-conversion' in qtbase is too old to support m68k.
Support for m68k was on May 18, 2014 [1].

The attached diff patches the embedded double-conversion code the
same way it was patched in the previously mentioned commit [1].

Please include the patch in the next upload of qtbase-opensource-src
so that the package can be built on m68k again.

Thanks,
Adrian

Bug#805612: akonadi-backend-mysql: It should depend on mysql-server-core but not mysql-client-core

2016-11-22 Thread Scott Kitterman
It says fix, not remove. This should probably be default-mysql-client-core
(unless this is through shlibs depends, in which case it will be
mariadb-client-core-10.0, when built against default-libmysqlclient-dev).

Bug#805612: akonadi-backend-mysql: It should depend on mysql-server-core but not mysql-client-core

2016-11-22 Thread Sandro Knauß
Hey,

can you please explain, why you think, we can remove the mysql-client-core
dependency? akonadi is starting a server by it self and also connects to it,
so for me it makes sense, that akonadi also needs mysql-client-core to work.
Have you tested a system without mysql-client-core?

Best Regards,

sandro

Dear Maintainer,

Please, advise the users before upgrading LIBQT5 packages about the breaking
consistency of apps appearance.

It is impossible to have the same theme with GTK and QT apps cause GTK+ style
is removed.

While this bug is not solved, please, consider do not publish Debian Stable
with this packages versions cause the Desktop users will be affected.

Thanks. ;)

Could you produce a backtrace of the crashing plasmashell?

To do this you'll need to install, at least, plasma-workspace-dbgsym package
from the debug repositories [1], (quite probably you'll also need the
kscreen-dbgsym, and libkf5screen7-dbgsym packages to produce a useful output),
run plasmashell inside a gdb session:

killall plasmashell
gdb --args plasmashell --nofork 2>&1 | tee /tmp/plasmashell.dbg
(gdb) run
...
(gdb) thread apply all bt
...

Please, check if tha produced output shows the correspoding filenames and line
numbers for the relevant parts of the backtrace, if not, please add the
corresponding -dbg or -dbgsym of the referenced program/library and try to
produce this output again.

And then send the /tmp/plasmashell.dbg file to this bug report.

Bug#844481: plasma-desktop: No taskbar visible and context menu does not work!

2016-11-22 Thread Maximiliano Curia

Peter sent me the xsession errors privately, I couldn't find anything. :/

¡Hola Peter!

I had an old Konsole open which is saved in the session so I can
start reportbug.

I tried start in an empty user, but it produced the same error.

I guess your plasmashell is crashing, sadly this isn't enough to track
the issue. Could you share the ~/.xsession-errors of yout empty user,
it might provide some useful information.

Let's try something simpler, using klauncher (the default shortcut is
Alt+Space, it's the Run Command global shortcut) you should be able to launch
konsole. From there:

ps faux | tee /tmp/output.log

killall plasmashell

plasmashell | tee -a /tmp/output.log

This might bring your plasmashell back to life. And we will be interested on
the contents of the /tmp/output.log file. After running this commands, could
you send that file as an attachment to this bug report?

Bug#828363: kde4libs: FTBFS with openssl 1.1.0

Hi!

Would it be possible to change the build dependency from libssl-dev to
libssl1.0-dev for the time being to temporarily resolve this issue?

It's rather ugly to have a library as central as kde4libs FTBFS because
it blocks archive rebuilds or the bootstrapping of new architectures.

I think we should wait and see what the release team has to say about the
transition first. They are apparently cooking something up.

Currently qt4 is using libssl1.0-dev, so it seems that the only solution is to
update the build dependencies. I've already fixed this in my local build.

If the release team comes up with some other solution, and qt4 adopts it, we
might want to update the package again.

Bug#842640: /usr/bin/plasmashell: plasmashel crash when connecting beamer over hdmi

The behavior just happens on my laptop if the screen is expanded to the
second screen. Mirror the first screen to the second keeps plasmashell
alive while connecting the HDMI beamer

Bug#844707: plasma-workspace: plasmadesktop - excessive cpu usage, slow desktop operation

2016-11-22 Thread Andrey Rahmatullin
Control: tags -1 + upstream fixed-upstream patch
Control: forwarded -1 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356479

This is most likely the upstream bug about scanning icon files when an animated
icon is shown.
I've applied the upstream patch from https://phabricator.kde.org/D2986 and
plasmashell process when displaying a psi-plus "unread message" icon now
uses 10% of one core instead of 100%.
