Bug#676688: /usr/bin/krunner: krunner crashes, unable to lock screen

2012-06-08 Thread Andres Mejia
Package: kde-workspace-bin
Version: 4:4.7.4-2+b1
Severity: important
File: /usr/bin/krunner

After a recent update of my machines, I have been unable to lock my screen.
While doing some investigation, I've seen mention that the screensaver
functionality in KDE is tied to krunner. krunner crashes every time an attempt
to run it is made, whether it's during an initial login, or simply through
the command line. The following output is displayed when krunner crashes.

$ krunner

Bug#525940: dolphin: Problem copying files/directories to remote computer using fish:/

2009-04-27 Thread Andres Mejia
Package: dolphin
Version: 4:4.2.2-1
Severity: normal

There is some problem with copying files or directories to a remote computer
using fish:/. When you go to your home directory on the remote computer using
fish://u...@remote-server and then try to paste whatever file or directory you
had clicked on to copy, an error message pops up stating Could not {create
folder,copy file} to fish://u...@remote-server/{directory,file}.

It should be attempting to copy to
fish://u...@remote-server/$HOME/{directory,file}. This continues for any file or
directory. It's not until I go to some other directory, and then go back, that
copying works without an issue.

This problem also occurs with konqueror. I wasn't sure which package to file
against however.

Bug#523354: kmail: does not prompt for passphrase when attempting to sign messages

2009-04-15 Thread Andres Mejia
I suppose I did have to set it up. I don't remember setting anything up for
signing messages in the older version of kmail however. Was it already set up
in
the old version of kmail?

 Hi!

Signing emails in kmail does work. It is not the easiest to set up, but it
 do work.

KMail is not implementing asking for gpg passphrases directly, but instead
calls out to gpg-agent and make that handle the passphrase.

You need gpg-agent set up in your environment and have set gpg-agent up to
 use a X based pinentry thing (pinentry-qt3, pinentry-qt4, pinentry-gtk,
...) When this work, and you on command line can sign things and you get a
graphical popup asking for your passphrase, then it should also work in
 kmail.

If you don't have gpg-agent installed or gpg-agent intsalled with only a
command line based pinentry, then this won't work.

 Hope this helps

 /Sune

Left-clicking the akregator icon in the taskbar does nothing. It doesn't matter
whether akregator is displayed or not. I'm not sure if this is a problem with
kontact since I use akregator through kontact so I'm filing the bug with

Bug#523363: kontact: problem at logon when starting kontact

2009-04-09 Thread Andres Mejia
Package: kontact
Version: 4:4.2.2-1
Severity: normal

I have a problem with kontact at logon. When you logoff from a session without
closing kontact first, and then log back on, I get the standard prompt from
kwallet and another prompt stating the following.

'Kontact already seems to be running on another display on this machine. Running
Kontact more than once can cause the loss of mail. You should not start Kontact
unless you are sure that it is not already running.'

Then there's two prompts. Selecting 'Start Kontact' and then entering my
passphrase in kwallet will start two instances of kontact. Selecting 'Exit' will
not start kontact at all.

Furthermore, with the two instances of kontact running, closing one will close
the other as well, probably because it crashes. In the end, I have to manually
start kontact again anyway.

Here's a copy of the crash dump of the crash I mentioned.

Bug#523367: plasma-widget-folderview: left-clicking home and system icon in desktop does nothing

2009-04-09 Thread Andres Mejia
Package: plasma-widget-folderview
Version: 4:4.2.2-1
Severity: normal

Left-clicking the home and system icon in the desktop folderview widget does
nothing. I'm assuming it's suppose to start my default file manager at the
appropriate locations. I've tried setting both dolphin and konqueror as my
default file manager yet it does nothing.

Furthermore, I don't think either file managers support the system:/ url.

Bug#523363: kontact: problem at logon when starting kontact

I have a problem with kontact at logon. When you logoff from a session
without closing kontact first, and then log back on, I get the standard
prompt from kwallet and another prompt stating the following.

'Kontact already seems to be running on another display on this machine.
Running Kontact more than once can cause the loss of mail. You should not
start Kontact unless you are sure that it is not already running.'

Then there's two prompts. Selecting 'Start Kontact' and then entering my
passphrase in kwallet will start two instances of kontact. Selecting
'Exit' will not start kontact at all.

Do you have kontact to start twice?

I had set kontact to autostart in my .kde/Autostart dir and also as part of
a saved session, and I saw this exact behaviour.

I don't have kontact set to autostart. Not sure what you mean by saved session.
This behavior happens to me when I leave kontact open when logging off and then
logging back on.

 /Sune

Furthermore, with the two instances of kontact running, closing one will
close the other as well, probably because it crashes. In the end, I have
to manually start kontact again anyway.
