Bug#884749: plasma-workspace: ksmserver-logout-greeter crashes stopping shutdown

2018-07-23 Thread Harald Dunkel

This package is in the dependency chain of KDE, i.e. the crash affects
all the KDE users. Would you mind to adjust the severity of this bug
report accordingly?

Thanx in advance
Harri

Bug#886214: kdepim lost kjots

2018-01-02 Thread Harald Dunkel

Package: kdepim
Version: 4:16.04.3-4~deb9u1

Installing the kdepim package kjots is not even suggested.
Is it possible that kdepim lost kjots?

Bug#802673: kdmgreet cannot connect to dbus

2015-10-22 Thread Harald Dunkel
Package: kdm
Version: 4:4.11.13-2

Instead of a login window kdm shows me a popup about a SIGSEV at
boot time. kdm.log is attached.

"systemctl | grep -i dbus" shows

dbus.service loaded active running D-Bus System Message Bus
dbus.socketloaded active running D-Bus System Message Bus Socket

grep -i dbus /var/log/daemon.log:

Oct 22 13:55:00 dpcl082 dbus[1906]: [system] Successfully activated service

If I login on the command line and stop the kdm service,
then I can run X without problems (using "startx").

Please mail if I can help to track this down.

Harri

Note that your system uses syslog. All of kdm's internally generated messages
(i.e., not from libraries and external programs/scripts it uses) go to the
daemon.* syslog facility; check your syslog configuration to find out to which
file(s) it is logged. PAM logs messages related to authentication to authpriv.*.

Bug#779410: please obey page breaks in Fit Page mode

2015-02-28 Thread Harald Dunkel
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA256

Package: okular
Version: 4:4.8.4-3+b1
Severity: wishlist

If I click on a subsubchapter on the index window, then okular
jumps to a cut-off page, showing me a part of the next page as
well. This is pretty annoying. What is the Fit Page mode good
for if okular doesn't?

It would be extremely helpful for reading PDFs if okular would
obey page breaks when jumping to a new page.

This bug seriously affects user experience. KDE appears to be very fragile,
if you are greeted with the same notification about something important
missing on each login.

I would suggest to increase the priority of this bug report.

Keep on your good work

If I run 'konqueror http://www.heise.de/' from the command

I am running plain old X plus a basic window manager (fvwm).

You mean I have to ask the user to erase everything in

Sorry, but this doesn't answer the question. How can
I set ulimit -c unlimited before plasma-desktop is
run to make sure that there is a core dump for

Bug#637070: support kde in LXC, Linux Vserver or chroot

2011-08-08 Thread Harald Dunkel
Package: kde-full
Version: 5:66
Severity: wishlist

kde depends upon hardware dependent packages (e.g. hal),
and upon packages dealing with the kernel somehow (e.g.
udev), even if the system is a container or a chroot and
does not provide access to hardware or kernel.

To support container installations like LXC or Vserver it
would be very nice if these dependencies could be modified.
This would be _extremely_ helpful for virtual desktop
installations.

Many thanx

Bug#492011: please fix comment about -nolisten tcp

Would you mind to fix the comment in /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc
about ServerArgsLocal? AFAICS the default is _not_
but -nolisten tcp, even if you comment out the local
setting in this file. This is highly confusing.
