Hi, upgrading to version 4:5.6.4-1 Transitional package (muon-notifier -> 
plasma-discover-updater) solve the problem.

This is currently known not to work.  I'm trying to sort out what needs doing 
to get it working on Debian.

In the meantime, a totally unsupported work-around is to grab the 
update-notifier-common package from Ubuntu and use that.

Dear Maintainer,

did a clean install of debian testing using kde. After apt-get update there is
no update notification in the system tray, although configured in kde system
settings notification dialog und updates are really available (installable via
apt-get upgrade).

apper, (deprecated and not available) update-notifier-kde, or similiar is not
installed. I installed apt-config-auto-update since it is recommended as
supplement of update-notifier-common.
