   that option. The upstream rules for stable updates are quite strict;
see the 'MAINTENANCE BRANCHES' section in perlpolicy(1) of the perl-doc

In principle it doesn't sound entirely unreasonable, but I'd like a
little more information as to the specific fixes included.

Moving to 5.14.3 would have the advantage that it will reduce Debian's
patch count and therefore make later analysis and patch management/triage
a bit easier; it will need to be accompanied by a new
libmodule-corelist-perl package for consistency. I'm not aware at this
stage of any other external changes needed.

libpar-packer-perl, libdevel-cover-perl, and libclass-xsaccessor-perl would
need binNMUs to become installable with 5.14.3.

libperl-apireference-perl would start to FTBFS and would need a source
fix.

Bug#691730: unblock: schleuder/2.2.1-2

2012-10-29 Thread Jérémy Bobbio
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock

I finally got around to test schleuder 2.2.1-1 in a production environment a
couple weeks ago. This lead me to discover several painful bugs. Several of
them should be considered RC. I preferred to spend time fixing them instead of
doing full reports to the BTS just for the sake of it.

Here's the full changelog with some comments for the most important bugs:

   * Support removed (but not purged) package in weekly cron. (Closes: #678487)
   * Ensure that /etc/schleuder/lists exists before migrating lists from older
 releases format.
→ This will prevent upgrade to complete if no lists existed
  before.
   * Fix receiving unencrypted messages: transform one missed call to
 'ruby-filemagic' in the 'magic' equivalent.
→ schleuder/2.2.1-1 is unable to receive unencrypted email.
   * Warn for expiring keys for two weeks instead of more than three years in
 check-expired-keys.
   * Avoid stty calls in check-expired-keys cron avoid weekly error messages.
   * Restore the lost debian-no-rubygems.patch: the Debian package does not need
 rubygems to work.
→ With this patch, Schleuder will fail if the 'rubygems' package
is not installed, but it is not listed as a dependency.
   * Fix broken member file created by schleuder-newlist when used in
 interactive mode.
   * Fix spelling mistake in debian/NEWS. Thanks lintian for spotting that one.
   * Drop useless Build-Depends on pandoc. Upstream ships manpages since version
 2.2.

No-auto-remove bugs for semi-automated removal

2012-10-29 Thread Niels Thykier
Hi,

I have extended the magic UDD SQL query for finding removal candidates.
It will now hide/skip bugs already tagged with wheezy-ignore,
wheezy-is-blocker, wheezy-will-remove or wheezy-can-defer...

Beyond that, if you are aware of a bug that should not be auto-removed
via the semi-automatic approach, you (i.e. RT members) can now usertag
it with wheezy-no-auto-remove[0]. Please drop me (or team@) a note
when you do it, so I am aware of it (as the filter is subject to the UDD
import schedule).

I have tagged a few initial bugs[1] based on gut-feeling and suggestion
on IRC (about 2 weeks ago). Feel free to correct/extend the list as needed.

Re: Bug#592539: (isc-dhcp-server: supply additional initscript for IPv6 daemon): Yet another idea how to solve this issue

2012-10-29 Thread Axel Beckert
Hi,

Philipp Kern wrote:
This fix will enhance the IPv6-readyness in wheezy a lot, as in the
next years the IPv6 rollout in corporate networks requires DHCPv6 in
most cases (beside maybe parallel DHCPv4).

Meh, DHCPv6 is mostly used with Windows clients anyway.

I disagree. DHCPv6 is used a lot where you don't want SLAAC tell
outsiders (e.g. Google) how much hardware from which vendor is used in
your company/school and/or if you don't want your users to use privacy
extensions to be able to audit the internal network. That's all not
OS-dependent.

Many people relate the necessity of running DHCPv4 when using IPv4
 with DHCPv6 and IPv6.

I don't think so.

 That's simply not true.

IMHO wrong. There's a true core in it: If you need to announce HTTP
proxies, NTP servers and other stuff besides just IP addresses in your
IPv6 network, SLAAC doesn't suffice and you need DHCPv6 even if SLAAC
is in use.

Regards, Axel

Hi!

I have recently uploaded libmongo-client/0.1.5-1+deb7u1 to T-P-U, to fix
#690992 (missing libglib2.0-dev dependency from the -dev package). The
addition of the missed dependency and a changelog update is the only
thing changed. The package has already been built by the autobuilders

This is an upload readying this document for the current wheezy. Many
minor contents updates has been done together with translations.

Out of all the changes made, most important one is the bug #68648. I
did my best effort to reduce conglicts with GNU following guidances and
suggestion made by the leader, Zak. We are waiting for response from
GNU before closing this bug. But in order to make this official, it is
highly desiable for this package to be unblocked.

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA256

Dear release managers,

I'd like to upload a new upstream version of the German translation of
various manpages. I've added a check in the configure script to ensure
that the required program po4a is installed on the system. Would you
accept such a change for a freeze exception as well? If not, I'd revert
that patch upstream and release a version with translation updates only.

The patch in question is attached to this mail.

Regards,
Tobias

I'm hoping to get 9.8.4.dfsg-1 uploaded today (wheezy-proposed) and

I don't think this is appropriate in the current state of the release

I'm hoping to get 9.8.4.dfsg-1 uploaded today (wheezy-proposed) and
9.9.2 uploaded later this week to sid.

I don't think this is appropriate in the current state of the release
preparations. I see no mail from you on d-release, requestion
permission

for uploading to wheezy-p-u.

Indeed. In any case, were the new version to be accepted in to the
release then the appropriate route would be via unstable, not direct to
t-p-u.

This patch also features non-regression tests.

Is there a plan / ETA for fixing it in unstable? Even though the fix for

2.021-3+deb7u1 would be more conventional here, to indicate that the

That makes sense. I've prepared a new upstream version with this fix (and some
others). I will release upstream and in unstable in the next few days.

ok.

About 10 days after the new version hits unstable, assuming everything goes
well, should I ping you back on this thread before releasing to tpu or just
upload ?

Thanks

Works for me. I'll toss 9.8.4 into sid. As for getting it into wheezy,
it'll make the support life easier for the inevitable security fixes that
will follow. There are probably other reasons.

Hi Mehdi, hi release team,

I have here the diff between 0.12.3-1 (testing) and 0.12.4-1
(experimental). I reduced the diff to actual code changes, i.e.
I removed the reformatted changelog, the global email address
change of one of the upstream maintainers, and the translation
changes. I left all code changes and other changes in place.

Hi Arthur,

could you please test 0.12.4-1 from experimental for any
regressions? Esp. in combination with the trac plugins we have
in wheezy. Thanks!
