RE: Bug#745019: problems with 2.6.32 kernel (and wheezy libnl3)
As I was doing an upload for another problem anyway, I backported the fix from the upstream git into our 3.2.24. 2.6.32 was the kernel from squeeze, while wheezy uses mainly 3.2, so I'm not sure if this fix is critical enough to warrant a stable update. I've therefore added debian-release to get an answer to this question :-) . Thanks. I just want to mention that this affects all OpenVZ users, because OpenVZ is still using a 2.6.32 kernel. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-release-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Affected packages only seem to be evolution-rss and mail-notification. I hope to get fixes for these in sid before the transition starts so that those can just be binnmu'ed. Maybe we can combine the two - this #742386 and CVE-2014-2894 - into single pu? Looking at the source for the 2.0.0 packages uploaded to unstable yesterday, it looks like they contain the CVE fix? If so then the security-tracker needs updating, as https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2014-2894 lists unstable as vulnerable. If the security team don't plan to issue a DSA for the issue (which I don't know if they've decided yet) then the patch looks sane enough to include in the p-u. Yes, 2.0.0 contains the (last-minute) fix. And no, this fix is definitely worth a DSA. So I'm uploading +deb7u2 to wheezy-pu as has been already agreed before, to catch the train to 7.5. With intention to fix CVE-2014-2894 later. Okay. Both uploads flagged for acceptance; thanks. Bug#745250: wheezy-pu: package libdatetime-timezone-perl/1:1.58-1+2014a
Control: tags -1 + confirmed On 2014-04-19 19:39, gregor herrmann wrote: If it's not too late for the upcoming point release, I'd like to include a newer version of libdatetime-timezone-perl. (The reason I've been waiting until today is that I was hoping for another new upstream release; but well ...). Technically, it is, as I said on IRC that I was closing it five minutes before you submitted the bug :-) However: The update includes the Olson DB versions 2013i and 2014a (but not yet 2014b). Given that this would bring it in line with the tzdata upload in p-u, if the upload could be made this evening then I'd be prepared to accept it for 7.5.
