I'm also still not sure why the suggestion is to add the changes via such a binary update rather than a patch - I appreciate that the changes might be large, but that doesn't preclude being able to produce an actual diff. (Codebases where patches can't be backported also really don't thrill me with an SRM hat on, but that's another matter.) Regards, Adam

Bug#813128: Fwd: Bug#813128: transition: openmpi
Ok, This part of the transition is going well enough, modulo #814183. As you may know, I switched the mpi-defaults in s390x and x32 to use openmpi instead of mpich, now that openmpi builds there too. No the default MPI implementation is the same in all release architectures, which is nice per se. From what I can see in the past there were no rebuilds for this, but (as also others pointed out elsewhere) it would only make sense. There are also packages already failing to build due to dependencies being built against mpich but now building against openmpi. According to my grepping the packages affected are a strict subset of the ones doing this transition. In particular, attached there is a list dived in levels as of reported by the auto-openmpi tracker. A handful needs sourceful changes, I already done a couple and I'll do the rest too. I welcome any comments on the plan, or please schedule the appropriated rebuilds. -- regards, Mattia Rizzolo GPG Key: 66AE 2B4A FCCF 3F52 DA18 4D18 4B04 3FCD B944 4540 .''`. more about me: http://mapreri.org : :' : Launchpad user: https://launchpad.net/~mapreri `. `'` Debian QA page: https://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=mattia `- LEVEL 1 aces3 arpack blacs-mpi => DONE boost1.55 boost1.58 cctools dune-grid gerris gmsh gpaw hdf5 => SOURCEFUL UPDATE NEEDED hppc hyphy hypre mpi4py mpqc mrbayes mrmpi otf palabos parmetis => NON-FREE ray regina-normal rmpi scotch spooles tachyon valgrind yorick LEVEL 2 adios elkcode gfsview gromacs => SOURCEFUL UPDATE NEEDED gyoto lammps libghemical => NOT mpi-defaults libgpiv mathgl meep-mpi-default mpb netpipe => NOT mpi-defaults, SOURCEFUL UPDATE NEEDED openmx paraview scalapack => DONE silo-llnl starpu tessa vtk vtk6 LEVEL 3 esys-particle eztrace => SOURCEFUL UPDATE NEEDED gpiv gpivtools ligghts nwchem LEVEL 4 cp2k espresso freefem++ petsc LEVEL 5 slepc LEVEL 6 dolfin getdp signature.asc Description: PGP signature

Bug#796952: english language release notes pdf file is not english (https://www.debian.org/releases/stable/amd64/release-notes.en.pdf)
> So, could this bug now be planned to be fixed in 8.4? I forgot to add - even if we do *NOT* want to fix dvipdfmx, there is an easy way around, do not use type1 but otf/ttf fonts. I have advised this to the Russian reporter and done it myself for all release notes. It is damned easy to choose a different font.
