Please rm ruby-bourne from testing, as well as its two reverse depends
(ruby-mail-room and ruby-terrapin). It will allow ruby-mocha to migrate
to testing.

ruby-bourne is unmaintained upstream and RC-buggy (#1027341).

ruby-mail-room and ruby-terrapin are also RC buggy.

They might still get fixed at some point, but it sounds better to let
mocha (which is a rather core mocking library) migrate.

If I interpreted your request correctly, you didn't so much asked for
the removal of the three ruby packages, but you wanted ruby-mocha not
stalled on the autopkgtest regression. At this moment I preferred to
hint ruby-mocha through and let autoremoval handle the removal as all
three packages have RC bugs as you noted. For you the effect should be
the same.

Bug#1027959: transition: libkiwix

2023-01-04 Thread Kunal Mehta
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition
X-Debbugs-Cc: lego...@debian.org

Hi,

I'd like to do the transition for libkiwix (and sibling libzim) in time
for bookworm, it's fully self-contained.

I uploaded src:zimlib 8.1.0 to unstable last week, which unintentionally
had a breaking change in it (sorry!). libkiwix 12.0.0 is waiting in
experimental.

Status of reverse dependencies for compatibility with new libkiwix+libzim:
* zim-tools: needs binNUM for libzim 8.1.0
* python-libzim: fixed with 2.1.0, currently in unstable
* kiwix-tools: fixed with 3.4.0, waiting in experimental
* kiwix: fixed with 2.3.1, waiting in experimental

Bug#1027942: transition: poppler 22.12

Poppler is now on a monthly release cycle. I request that we use
poppler 22.12 for Debian 12 instead of poppler 22.08 from August.
(This week, there was also a 23.01 release, but it's impractical for
that update to be included in Debian 12.) I apologize for the late
request.

This transition is mostly done in Ubuntu, but completion is blocked
there by the Qt transition and some other transitions.

This transition will need a sourceful upload for dia and for
ipe-tools. ipe-tools is fixed in Experimental. I can do NMUs for these
2 packages.

inkscape fails to build on some architectures but that's not caused by
the new poppler and the build failures didn't block the poppler 22.08
transition several months ago. Everything else should be binNMUable
without an issue.

This tracker is good:
https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-poppler.html

Thank you,
Jeremy Bicha

We'd like to update the numerical library stack in time for the new
stable release.

Affected libraries are

hypre2.25.0 -> 2.26.0
petsc/slepc3.17 -> 3.18
sundials  5.8.0 -> 6.4.1

Autotransitions are already generated:

https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-petsc.html
https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-slepc.html
https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-sundials.html

Most of the dependent packages are under our control
(Debian Science Team), octave is the main one outside our team.

Updates have built fine in experimental and dependent
packages are building successfully against them.

Anton Gladky will upload the sundials update.

Hi,

the gstreamer 1.22 release as well as mediastreamer2 5.2 need zxing-cpp
version 1.4. Currently there is 1.2 in unstable and 1.4 in experimental.
Boyuan Yang, the maintainer of zxing-cpp told me to take care of this
transition as they lack the time right now to to so themselves.

I have rebuilt the reverse dependencies of libzxing-dev as listed here:

https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-zxing-cpp.html

The one that FTBFS is libreoffice for which I submitted a bug here that
is already fixed in unstable:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1027048

Is it too late before the freeze to do this?

Thanks!

cheers, josch

Whoops, thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Bug#1027856: RM: wesnoth-1.14/1:1.14.17-2

Hi Vincent,

If you want it removed from the archive (which sounds logical) than the
bug should be reassigned to ftp.debian.org (and probably the title
should be adapted to their format). Filing an RM bug against
release.debian.org is what you should do if you want/need the package to
remain in unstable for whatever reason but the package should be removed
from testing (or stable). I think that's not what you meant, right?
