Scheduled.

Hello,

Unfortunately, it seems this was scheduled to execute immediately, rather than
wait for wxwidgets3.2 (3.2.5+dfsg-1).  So we're going to need another binNMU now
that wx has been uploaded.

I didn't understand from your previous email that wxwidgets3.2 hadn't been
uploaded yet. For the future, either ask for a dw (dependency-wait) command as
well, or tag it moreinfo and drop the tag once we're ready.

Scheduled again.

Cheers,

The petsc patch for the 64-bit time_t transition was deeply invasive.
It makes petsc (and slepc) essentially unmaintainable.

I think the best way to deal with it is to pretend it never happened
and move on with petsc 3.20, upgrading from petsc 3.19. We'd want to
doing this upgrade anyway.

As part of this transition I'll also upgrade hypre from 2.28.0 to
2.29.0.

I've checked that sundials and getdp build without problem against the
new petsc. dolfinx, dolfin too.

deal.ii builds but fails tests with a reference to undefined
__gmpn_com symbols. This indicates instructions to link to libgmp
didn't get through. I think this is unrelated to the petsc upgrade,
and I suspect it might be an artifact of my local installation. i.e. I
suspect the build on buildds will be fine. If necessary we can update
deal.ii to take more care linking GMP.

Please go ahead.

All uploads have been made now (including dolfin).  Just binNMUs remain

Dear Release Team,

Please schedule a transition for the latest major upstream version of Octave,
version 9. All the arch:any Octave addons need to be rebuild.

Octave 9 has already been uploaded to experimental.

A rebuild of all the packages affected by the transition has been performed.
Several problems were fixed, and to the best of our knowledge, all packages are
ready. We stand ready to upload and NMU as needed if other issues arise.

Thanks,

The transition is triggered by the SONAME bump.

All reverse build-dependencies can be successfully rebuilt with the
new libxlsxwriter.

Dear Release Team,

Please schedule a transition slot for wireplumber 0.5.

The auto-generated ben tracker was deleted (not sure why),
but here is a new ben file:

Ben file:
-
title = "wireplumber-0.5";
is_affected = .build-depends ~ /libwireplumber-0.4-dev|libwireplumber-0.5-dev/;
is_good = .depends ~ "libwireplumber-0.5-0";
is_bad = .depends ~ "libwireplumber-0.4-0";
-

I identified two packages affected by this transition:
- waybar, but last upload has mistakenly dropped the support of
  wireplumber (#1070041), but anyway the version in unstable is compatible
  with wireplumber 0.5.
- asahi-audio which only provides config for wireplumber, but the new
  version compatible with wireplumber is already in experimental (#1067660).

Thanks.

Best regards,
Dylan

Poppler is on a monthly release cycle. I request that we do the
poppler 23.12 transition with the December 2023 version.

We have completed the Poppler 23.12 transition in Ubuntu except for an
issue with octave-dicom which doesn't appear to affect Debian and was
only involved because its autopkgtest was triggered by gdcm.

I believe everything should be binNMUable without issue.

This tracker is good:

libre, rem, and baresip are available in experimental, details on the update at
#967266.
I suggest to upload libre, then rem, then baresip to unstable.
The auto-generated Ben files of auto-libre and auto-rem are okay and
the packages build fine but are relying on being updated together (the experimental baresip does not
build with unstable libre/rem, while experimental libre/rem break baresip).

Hello,

I would like to request a transition slot for openmm
(experimental -> unstable) due to soname bump. Current ben tracker [1]
is OK.

All reverse dependencies rebuild fine, except for cpptraj which is not
in testing.

Thanks,
Andrius

User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition

Severity: normal

I would like to initiate the following listed transitions together
since they are tightly bundled together:

* https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-kimageannotator.html
* https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-kcolorpicker.html

List of all affected packages:

Level 0:
* src:kcolorpicker
Level 1:
* src:kimageannotator
Level 2:
* src:ksnip
* src:gwenview

The basic rationale is the upstream renaming of shared libraries (for
dual Qt5/Qt6 support):

libkimageannotator0 => libkimageannotator-qt{5,6}-0
libkcolorpicker0 => libkcolorpicker-qt{5,6}-0

Since src:kcolorpicker, src:kimageannotator and src:ksnip have a
tight relationship, they will be updated in Sid together in this
transition. Rebuilds in Experimental for all involved packages were
prepared, performed and all passed.

Since I am the package maintainer (or team co-maintainer) of all four
packages, I will perform all-manual source-only uploads for all involved
packages (Experimental => Sid) bottom-up following the dependency chain
once the transition is approved.

Ben file:

(please reuse auto-kcolorpicker and auto-kimageannotator trackers.)

Thanks,
Boyuan Yang

Hi,

Small transition with only two affected packages: diagnostics, ivtools,
Both of them builds fine with ace 7.1.3+dfsg-1 in experimental.

The autogenerated ben tracker looks good. Please consider 'ace' for
transition.
Thanks in advance.

Dear Release Team,

A new RPM version is available and has been uploaded and accepted in
experimental as version 4.19.1.1+dfsg-1~exp, and it introduces an ABI
bump from soname version 9 to 10 for the library packages shipped from
src:rpm.

The reverse-build-depends on librpm-dev are:

createrepo-c
freeipa
libdnf
libdrpm
libextractor
libguestfs
libmodulemd
libsolv
libzypp
openscap
zypper

I have build-tested them all on amd64, only libdrpm needs changes but
there's a new version that I just uploaded that works with both, so
only binNMUs will be needed.

Package: release.debian.org
X-Debbugs-CC: Nicolas Boulenguez

when preparing GCC packages for time_t64, I noticed that we'll have an
ABI change for libgnat as well. Instead of doing a gnat 12 -> 12+t64
transition, let's do a gnat 12 -> 13+t64 transition instead.  According
to Nicolas, packages are already prepared in experimental.

Waiting with the transition until all t64 stuff is finished doesn't work
well, packages which need binNMUs will ftbfs.

As discussed in bug 1070706 gtk4 was built against a version of libpng1.6
suffering from bug 1066069, which resulted in libgtk-4-1-udeb depending on
libpng16-16t64-udeb which does not exist. This prevents gtk4 migrating to
testing, which leaves a bunch of packages uninstallable in testing on time64
architectures.

Please can you schedule a rebuild.

Hi,

a new version 1.26.0 of nginx has been released.

I have uploaded version 1.26.0-1~exp1 to the experimental and
would like to upload the new nginx 1.26.0-1 version to the unstable.

And with the upload of 1.26.0-1 nginx to unstable,
the nginx ABI version changes at the same time. Previous ABI
nginx-abi-1.24.0-1, new ABI nginx-abi-1.26.0-1.

Therefore, we would also need to rebuild all 3rd party nginx modules
(libnginx-mod-* packages)
which depends on nginx. Hence the transition request.

Furthermore, this upload/rebuild solves the problem that arises at time_t 64
transition:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1069997

Ben file:

title = "nginx";
is_affected = .build-depends ~ /nginx-dev/;
is_good = .depends ~ /nginx-abi-1.26.0-1/;
is_bad = .depends ~ /nginx-abi-1.24.0-1/;

Please when the nginx 1.26.0-1 arives to the unstable,
can You schedule binNMUs for the above mentioned packages in unstable on all
architectures.

Thanks
Jan

PS: ABI versioning is a relatively new feature in nginx, so this is the first
transition request.
And any ideas how to automate the transitions are welcome

nginx and the reverse dependencies migrated.

Hi,
please reject that package from p-u NEW. I'm sorry for the
faulty upload, this one should've targeted unstable.

It was still in NEW, so needed ftp-master action rather than SRM.

I asked on #debian-ftp on IRC and the package has been rejected.
