Our standard layout is to have a small /boot, and then use LVM for a system
VG and a local VG. System contains root, var, tmp and local contains home
and any application specific paths. This way, the individual paths can
increased in size easily, just by adding a new ninidisk, and then assigning
it to the proper VG and LV.

In this scenario, /boot still needs to be an actual first level partition,
so that the boot loader can find its files.
