Thanks for the information. I'll try with pbuilder, and see the
difference with debuild (which I'm currently using and for which
I do not get any error).

Indeed, pbuilder showed a missing build dependency, so that I had to
add emacs24. With this dependency, there isn't an error any longer.
However my patch mixed upstream/debian changes and could yield an
error in some cases (this is fine to apply local changes and rebuild
the package with debuild, but not for quilt, which I had to use to
refresh the patch in order to regenerate the dsc file for pbuilder).

I followed some suggestions on:

https://raphaelhertzog.com/2011/07/04/how-to-prepare-patches-for-debian-packages/

I've attached the debdiff output on the dsc files.

Done. Sorry for the SoB-delay. I'm catching up slowly from vacation.

Other SoB candidates might keep on pinging me in urgent cases.

Thanks for your preparation

This package failed to build on arm64. Here is the buildd log:
https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=geomviewarch=arm64ver=1.9.4-4.1stamp=1409984380

The problem appears to be out of date autoconf files (config.sub and
guess). It is one of many packages which need autoconf updates in
order to build on new architectures (such as arm64, mips64el, ppc64el
and or1k). 'Autoreconf'ing is the recommended way to deal with this
problem in Debian, as it works now and in the future, and ensures
packages remain buildable from source. This page (
https://wiki.debian.org/Autoreconf ) contains information on this
issue, and details for maintainers on how to update your packages:

The arm64 and ppc64el porter teams are working hard to get these new
architectures ready for jessie, and time is short, so do please try to
fix this issue promptly. Unless the autofoo in the package is way out
of date, it's often trivial to do.

Please ignore/close this message if it is in error, and accept my
apologies for the noise. It may have already been fixed, or a new
upload done since the list was generated. Also the automated checks
for characteristic log messages can sometimes produce false
positives, despite our best efforts.

Dear Maintainer,
For some unknown reason whenever I want to view the HTML files
geomview invokes netsurf for some unknown reason. Before installing
geomview iceweasel was the default application for html files.

To fix this had to enter text/html in ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list

cat ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list | grep text/html
text/html=iceweasel.desktop

as well as in mimeinfo.cache

 cat /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache | grep text/html
text/html=iceweasel.desktop;kde4-kfmclient_html.desktop;chromium.desktop;midori.desktop;netsurf-gtk.desktop;dillo.desktop;geany.desktop;bluefish.desktop;arora.desktop;notepadqq.desktop;

Why this needed to be done is beyond me as before whenever I used to
open a hyper-link (even in my mail or elsewhere) iceweasel had the
first dibs.

Looking forward to know why this happened and if there is a permanent
solution possible.

Version: 1.9.4-4.1
User: debian-de...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: autoreconf

The package fails to build on ppc64el (powerpc64le-linux-gnu), because
the config.{guess, sub} files are out of date, and are not updated during
the build. If possible, please do not update these files directly,
but build-depend on autotools-dev instead, and use the tools provided
by autotools-dev to update these files.

  - For dh, call dh --with autoreconf.

  - For cdbs based build systems, include
/usr/share/cdbs/1/rules/autoreconf.mk

  - For other rules files, call dh_autoreconf before calling
configure (in the build or configure target), and call
dh_autoreconf_clean before dh_clean in the clean target.

For combining autoreconf and autotools_dev, see bug #698765.

After the build on any architecture, and before a clean, a grep for
powerpc64le in the configure, aclocal.m4 and/or libtool.m4 file(s)
should print some lines. It is not enough to just update the
config.guess and config.sub files.

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/ppc64el-20140414/buildlog_ubuntu-trusty-ppc64el.geomview_1.9.4-4.1_FAILEDTOBUILD.txt
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

Please note that these builds were done in an Ubuntu development,
environment there may be a few false positives in these bug reports.

See https://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS for a guide how to
address these.

python-pyorick_1.4-1~bpo8+1_amd64.changes is NEW

2015-06-25 Thread Debian FTP Masters
binary:python-pyorick is NEW.
binary:python3-pyorick is NEW.
source:python-pyorick is NEW.

Your package has been put into the NEW queue, which requires manual action
from the ftpteam to process. The upload was otherwise valid (it had a good
OpenPGP signature and file hashes are valid), so please be patient.

Packages are routinely processed through to the archive, and do feel
free to browse the NEW queue[1].

If there is an issue with the upload, you will recieve an email from a
member of the ftpteam.

If you have any questions, you may reply to this email.
